Hotrodhooligan666
I am hoping someone can help. I have a 2lt Pinto with EFi, and need a new sump as mine is going rusty. It is in a Ford Pop, so how would I know which I need, if there is a difference between them?? Daft question I know, but would appreciate some help. Paulkp
2.0 pinto was fitted to everything from a Mk1 Escort, Capris, Cortinas, Granadas, Sierras to Capris, and I think there will be variations to the sump, depending on things like the crossmember and possible oil capacity. The 4x4 sump which was a cast alloy with fitting for front diff etc.. My Dad had a Ford Pop - had room for three kids, and luggage for a weeks holiday in Great Yarmouth, so why do we all need hulking great SUVs !!! So I'm no help at all really ! isetta
Sumps definitely did vary according to what car the engine was in so it would clear cross member / steering rack. I remember this from taking engine out of mk4 cortina to replace a wrecked engine in a mk3 capri
Hotrodhooligan666
Thanks for the replies. The engine number relates it to a 87 Sierra, so where would I be able to purchase one of those?? Are they available new??
