Yes they are the correct ones. Will these nuts be ok? Solid one pieces nuts?

I can’t be dealing with the headache of the original seized lug nuts again

Yes, those look correct for the older-type alloys.  I would still recommend checking the taper fits the alloy perfectly when you get any aftermarket nuts though.

When it comes to Ford wheel nuts everything revolves around the year 2013

  • Before 2013 lots of different types of Ford wheel nuts for both Alloy and Steel.
  • After 2013 Ford introduced Global wheel nuts and so things were much simpler.
  • If you're unlucky and are dealing with the year 2013 then it could be either.

The two piece nut with the rotating collar is only for use on pre-2013 alloy wheels, as far as I know.

Yeah hence the reason I’m a little apprehensive about purchasing some. Thanks for your help, I’ll be making double sure they sit nicely and correctly. Wheel nuts are not a component you should ever be cutting corners on.

I believe i have the old style alloys as @TomsFocus kindly informed me, so a shout out to him. 2009 alloys, 205 55 16R

So I think it’s safe to say I don’t have global wheels?

I think my plan of action is to buy the wheel nuts I’ve put up above and tighten them to spec 130Nm as kindly provided in the chart by @unofix

I’ll let you know how it all goes!

Good and bad news! Good news, I cracked the 4 wheel nuts with a breaker bar. Bad news, the locking nut was stubborn and kept slipping out so unable to get the wheel off.

Any ideas guys?
Also would any new locking nuts fit?

Or do I specially need the flower pattern?

The pattern doesn't matter, but you need the correct seat as with the normal nuts.  The Ford ones pictured there are for the newer alloys, they aren't suitable for the older ones.  Most people just leave lockers off and fit standard nuts in their place now...but that's your decision based on location etc.

I managed to removed a couple of these using a breaker bar and hammering the knuckle with a lump hammer, putting just enough rotational force on not to slip out.  It's worth doing the other 4 nuts back up first, to relieve pressure on the locking nut.  If you can't get it off like that then you'll probably need to pay a garage about £20 to remove it with a proper tool.

@TomsFocus  cheers Tom, got it in the end
