It may be the instrument panel the solder get weak then you get all sorts of problems when it does it again slap the top of the dash board above the instrument panel see if it makes it better 👍

What diagnostics?   There are cheap code readers and interfaces that won’t read all codes and not both can busses.

people on here recommend forscan software and a good elm327 lead with switching.

There are only two sure ways to check and read all Ford specific DTC's

(1) take car to Ford main dealer, pay very large amount of money (plus a kidney) and they will use there special Ford code reader

OR

(2) Use FORScan software (it's Free) and a good ELM327 (modified) lead or better still use the new 'vLinker FS' lead, and you will have a bit of kit that is almost as good as the main dealers.

download FORScan: https://forscan.org/download.html

ELM327 (modified lead): https://tunnelrat-electronics.fwscart.com/USB_Modified_with_switch_ELM327/p4541936_17045457.aspx

new 'vLinker FS' lead: https://www.bmdiag.co.uk/forscan-diagnostic-cable-for-ford-vgate-vlinker-fs

Probably of no help here, but once had exactly the same issue with my Mrs's old Astra, many years back.

This turned out to be a sand-like material in the bottom of the carburettor float chamber (I said it was many years back! 😀) being sucked up into the jets in some conditions. I assumed it had got there via a dirty tank in a filling station.

Obviously we are talking fuel injection with the Z-S, but is there anything not yet checked which could harbour similar debris, I wonder?

It would have been caught in the intank fuel filter, clearly not an issue as that would have been replaced when the pump was

so i think its solved , had a think about what will cause fule cut off and spark cut ... crank sensor !!!

so for £11.44 i took a punt , 35 miles later the car seemed smoother and no cutting out ... should have realised not all sensors give faults ... hope this helps so,meelse one day .
