Nothing is 'Normal' in the car market these days !!!

I know, some folk are even running cars that are powered by batteries only, who'd have thought LOL 🤣

I always find that attitude odd. No matter what brand you move on to, there will be people on a forum somewhere that will have exactly the same opinion on it as you now do of Ford. It's a futile posit

I think that's a fair point. Every forum I lurk on, which is quite a few, seems to have at least one horror story like, for example, the ecoboost saga running at any one time. I've owned several of th

Don't think so, his batteries go on, and on, and on, and on, battery cars don't LOL

Huh, just checked the ad again for option 1 out of interest and it's gone up from £3,795 to £3,899 (was originally £3,995).

Is it normal for dealers to put prices back up after dropping them?

Yes.  It's a good way to get people to buy...  "Oh no, the price has gone up once, if I don't buy now, it might go up again!" 😱

Though it doesn't work with everything. 500g pack of Lurpack is now £6 in my local shop - they can whistle LOL

Sainsburys own brand is called Buttersoft...  Damn thing is always doing an auto-update when I want to use it! :whistling:

Yes, I believe it is actually manufactured by a company called, MicroSoft LOL

There are some branded goods I haven’t compromised on yet.   Heinz beans and Heinz ketchup and pepsimax. I weaned myself off branded spreadable butter a couple of years ago when I thought the price was getting silly

Yes, true.

I guess the dealers are in no particular rush with the state of the market. Both cars have been up for 3+ weeks now.

You need to try harder! Have you ever seen Heinz/Pepsi advertise on TV? Who do you think pays for that £750,000 30 second ad - yep, you do... Still, it's your money, if you like to give it to them, that's fair enough.

You can expect the unexpected at any time 🤔

Trades of the unexpected .......

Have you seen the ad for 'freeprints' on TV?  I'm struggling to work out how they make any profit at all, let alone enough for a TV ad!

Strange thing with TV ads is that they generally put me off a product...  I watch Dave pretty much every night, and that damn Citroen ad with all the popcorn just winds me up no end!  At least the VW ads on ITV are mildly humorous when ignorant a*seholes pull important plugs to charge their EVs.

Heinz make 1.1 billion cans of beans a year btw.  (Edit - My maths was wildly wrong originally!)  It's less than 0.07p per can for a yearly ad!

I actually use FreePrints, it's an amazing service, and the P&P is relative cheap and good quality paper too. I always just assumed it was a drug money laundry operation LOL.

I used Snapfish for the first time recently.  Was free to print up to 20 photos, just paying £1.49 P&P.  Quality seems good, although a couple of pictures were cropped badly...not sure if that was my fault as I did try to move the crop-box but may not have saved changes or something.  Now wondering whether to stick with Snapfish and pay a few pence per pic or try a different company. 🤔

You get 45 prints from FreePrints - honestly, even with P&P, there is no way I could print them out myself at that price using my own printer/paper/ink, genuinely have no idea how they make a profit, even with large volume of orders.

Think I may have found the issue for myself here...  Does FreePrints only work from a phone?  The photos I want to print are on the laptop...

Now, there's a thing, I have only ever used it on my phone, but I do believe you can download a 'windows' version of FreePrints for your laptop...

Can't you just send them to yourself via email ?

Not quickly and without ruining the quality as far as I'm aware.  Not really sure how big each photo is on average?

I can't focus on my phone for long without causing a migraine so tend to do anything time consuming on the laptop.

Edit - I think this may win the thread with the furthest tangent for this week!

Have no idea what you mean, from buying a Focus, to the price of LurPack, to the convenience of FreePrints? Oh yeh, gotcha now LOL

Why would someone try and flog life insurance here?? You lost, or, simply spam?? 🤣

Or perhaps a continuation of the tangent!  Do Sun Life still give away that free pen?

Vaguely on topic.  I couldn't find any way to get FreePrints on the laptop.  Just used Snapfish again, with a 40% discount.  Although the postage costs were higher this time.  The £1.49 I quoted before is only for up to 14 pics.  Would advise others to check postage costs first.
