what you think

I think they're probably fobbing you off to avoid paying out for a warranty repair.

It might genuinely have been a one-off but personally I wouldn't feel any peace of mind knowing that it could fail again at any point.  It's your car at the end of the day though.

  • You don't need a License unless you want to do Configuration and Programming. There should be a PID for Fuel Rail Pressure at the Common Rail but probably not much for the Fuel Pump  itself.

  • If these have a tank pump, you may be able to manually run that using Forscan.  The 1.6 TDCIs didn't but I think the 1.5s do? I've done it on my Golf to prime after a fuel filter change using VCD

  • You need to use FORScan on a laptop with a good ELM327(modified) connection cable. Download FORScan (It's free for use on a laptop): https://forscan.org/download.html TunnelRat Electronics E

I reckon it's PU7011, assuming that's 'with integrated heater'.

Not sure how cheap the filter element is on the Mann site but you can get the whole filter in casing for £35 on ebay.

I think so, but worth checking.  If your filter's plugged in to the loom, it's got a heater.

If it's got a cable plugged in then that is for the heater.
