Evening all,

Got a tapping noise from engine, sounds like it comes from top right of engine block near the black pipe (charge pipe?), any ideas? Or is this an expected thing,

Can post video on request,

Cheers

Engine Chatter

Got a video! Listen for that chatter at the end of each rev, not the injectors, seems to be coming from low down, not quite the visible belt area

Any ideas?

A video might be better. The injectors are very tappy on DI engines.

Just from your description it sounds like the waste gate actuator but I can’t really hear it much in the video. They can have rattley actuators from factory. It’s because they have to allow for thermal expansion, but it can resonance a bit more on this engine than others.

Hmm from some searches it seems like that could be spot on.. do you know the exact turbo model? Perhaps there is an aftermarket replacement.. it would be nice to actually combat some of these noises!
