I think this is the correct pair of Pagid discs for your car.  Remember to use the discount code SUN15 to get the pair for £73.

PAGID FRONT AXLE INTERNALLY VENTED BRAKE DISCS 54412 Ø 278 mm BRAKE KIT BRAKES | eBay

And the set of pads.  Again, use the code SUN15 to get them for £34.

It's up to you whether you want to risk those or not.  But that's the cheapest I can find for the ones that I think are correct.

many thanks 🙂

why does it say its for a volvo s50? also it has alot of holes, i am guessing that its fine?

  • Day 339 of the disc and pads replacement and the story rolls on, the brakes don't work 🤣 Just think if it took a Ford dealer this long and it was £960 per day the job would have cost £325,44

  • 7th November 2023, Optimistic post!! 🤣🤣🤣

  • Search your exact car either at a decent car parts supplier or Ebay. What you don't need is high performance discs & pads designed for sport use, you don't want raw steel budget brake discs a

Volvo V50 is just a Mk2 Focus estate with Volvo badges.  Same brakes on both cars.

That's another stock picture, it won't have all those holes in real life.

thank you again 🙂

bookmarked it for weekend.

Who knew that putting a set of discs and pads on a 2006 Fiesta could be so complicated ? 🙄

FWIW on Tom's recommendation I bought Pagid discs and pads for our old Mk3 and was very pleased with them. Very smooth and no squeal. As someone else mentioned if you buy unpainted discs they very quickly get red with rust. The Pagids came painted and still looked good when we sold the car.

As Tom says it's worth while taking some time to get the mounting face of the hub really clean (wire brush and sandpaper if necessary) to ensure the runout on the discs stays within tolerance.

Just had to double check then.  It's definitely a Focus!

Just had a read on the brake disc and it says they are coated so does that mean all I have to do is put them on without doing anything?

Yes, Pagid discs always come painted, unless they've changed recently.

That discount code may have expired now though.

Ok guys Just tried changing the brake disc but for the life in me, I cannot undo the 2 bolts behind the brake disc. I have tried a spanner with a hammer, I have tried an impact wrench. I have put gt85 on the bolts first and I cannot take the bolts out.

Anyone got any suggestions please?

Are you turning them the right way?  It gets unintuitive when the bolts are facing away from us.  I did once strip the hub threads by tightening a caliper bolt that I thought I was undoing.

They are incredibly tight though.  I use a 3ft breaker bar for leverage.  And a 6 point socket to prevent slipping & rounding.

Yes I was turning the right way which is anticlockwise.

I did just watch a YouTube video:

It seemed like he was turning the bolt clockwise.

Ignore that, I didn't have the sound on so it looked like he was turning it clockwise, I could hear the click when I put the sound on 😆😆

Just need more leverage then.

I might just try a breaker bar, got a feeling that might work.

Cheers Tom, will update when I get more pads. I have just put in new pads and really don't want to reuse them on the new disc unless you all do that?

you should be pushing the allen key downwards when  facing the wheel bolts (clockwise) or aniti clockwise if youre looking at the socket head(engine side)

Just done my front discs, used a 36" breaker bar as the bolts are torqued to 120Nm.  You won't crack 'em with a ratchet on its own.  I reused old pads which wasn't the best idea as they'd bedded to the old discs so were only contacting about half the new disc surface.  I ended up going out and fitting new pads onto the new discs.

Apec discs and pads, btw £80 for the 2 x discs and a set of pads.

Not really sure what you mean.  I'd just leave the old pads in until you've got the new disc fitted.

Thank you guys, got a new bar that not used yet.

I put new pads in last night because after I changed the lower arms, my right wheel was squeeking. It still squeeks now so when I manage to replace the new disc, should I put the new pads on what I've only used for abit or should I get some more pads?

Those pads will be fine.  They won't have bed in over one drive.
