Jeremy Lewis
After much head scratching and a replacement door actuator, I’ve finally found a fault that has been driving us mad. The door ajar warning beeper has been driving us crazy for ages, windows wouldn’t work, central locking wouldn’t work, wing mirror adjuster wouldn’t work. I put a diagnostic on the car. S-max 2009 2.0 diesel 140bhp version, this told me that the door control unit was not communicating with the car. I found this video on you tube, and lo and behold I had exactly the same issue. When you pull out the rubber boot connecting the door loom to the body, the big connector there had an earth wire snapped off deep inside the connector. Kudos to the creator of this video, I was at my wits end. https://youtube.com/watch?v=k4tHrREj0oQ&si=EWJIyN4sAhoB9RVf 1
