Forscan

I have fitted a new steering wheel with cruise control on my 62 1.0 Focus. I am trying to find somebody who can program it for me. I live in Bexleyheath, Kent. I would be very happy to pay for the service.

I have tried numerous local garages, not one of them uses Forscan. I don't want to got to a dealer unless as a last resort.

I'm not confident to do this myself, I bought a reader, downloaded the Forscan software but bottled it when I started to read the instructions!

Does anybody live within 25 miles or so and can do this for me?

Did you also change the 'clock spring' ?

A Ford dealer will not activate CC on a car that was not originally built with it for safety / legal reasons.

I didn’t need to change the clock spring.

Even more reason why I need a friendly Forscan ‘expert’

I'm in the midlands so can't help

But....

The lead is really cheap and the software is free but invaluable on an old car

Get the lead and install FORScan on a windows laptop

If you get stuck we'll help you through it

I have a lead and the connector. I will download the Forscan software and look for some instructions. I think I will also need a license.

I've downloaded Forscan and read up on the two month trial or 1 year licence. What do you suggest I go for?

Ideally I would like to configure my cruise control, Set the door locks so they default to lock I can only lock my front doors and lastly consider changing the charging SOC figure. We do a lot of local trips and I don't think the battery charges as much as it could. When I plug my charger in after not touching the car for a couple of days it shows battery voltage anywhere between 11.9 and 12.1. If it had a bit more charge going in then the figures might improve.

I don't think it'll take over 2 months to carry out those 3 jobs.

As far as I know, it's not adjustable on a 2013 Focus.

That’ll save me a job and probably wouldn’t have achieved very much. Thanks for the information.
