Just googling around looks like people started reporting the f12 map release around may last year.

Anybodys guess now when the next one comes as we are well past it being released around the same time.

 

 

Ford.co.uk advises new map 13 available for my sync 3 ( upto date)

when I download load the file is tiny and clearly not maps!

is this another Ford cockup

The files have been found unofficially. It’s probably just an error that’s it’s built the map update without them. Probably won’t be long before it’s available.

F13 is available now visit https://cyanlabs.net/ and download syn3updater.

A very wise decision. Ford downloads are always easy and work first time without any problems 🤣🤣🤣

Fords updates have always been a pain to implement in my 2020 Puma, 

Finally got around to installing the latest update  V3.4 Build 23188. The install went fine took about 45 minutes, but uploading the confirmation file was still a pain, eventually went into it via a link from the online support page and it worked.

Onto the maps - I was amazed to see the file size was only 49 kbs, regardless the update via usb went fine - the records show it as Version F11,  and Gracenote (whatever that is) as 1.1.1.2316

I uploaded the confirmation file and this went up straight away. However when I check the Updates status later it shows updates still available for Maps, but there is no file

 

Is this what others are experiencing ?

So you were still on F10 before the update ?

You should be on F12 now. The latest F13 update from Ford is once again scr3wed up, looks like they actually forgot to include the maps 🤣

Not sure as I forgot to look went ahead and the update said installation finished correctly

Googling I see someone posted a link to download Fords F13 update without logging in as normal apparently its over 8gb in size

As a further update cpntacted Ford UK Support - waste of time they said reach out to your dealer - WHY ?  Its a Ford UK website problem that the download file is not there !

That is exactly what I did and got the same response.  I then replied back to them saying it is their website issue not my vehicle and they then responded with the standard email asking for make, model, service history, V5 owner, blah, blah, blah . . . .

 

So the usual Ford fob off.

Appears map update is available on Ford web site at last.

I’m down loading onto my pc at home. Internet @ 48 mps.

It was the same when I downloaded F12, I did it overnight and it wasn't finished until about lunchtime the next day.

Well checking today if the latest map update was available to my surprise it was - took an eternity to download then copy to usb.

Now the fun started, the Update at the time of writing is still running  3 hours after starting it ................ watch this space for further updates (no pun)

Why on earth can some sort of timer be included within the update installation routine ?

My F12 update took 3 hrs from a fast USB, had to open the bonnet to let the heat out while it was sat on the driveway with engine running.
 

As I’d already jailbroken mine I used a reformat tool for F13 (not the one cyanlabs uses). Took 50 mins which includes reinstalling the main OS, voice control, grace notes and DAB logos on top of the maps and nav voice. 
 

I don’t understand why the autoinstall method Ford use is so slow.
