  • Disappointed to see they're just sold in mm.  Thought he'd have to look for a proper scaled down size...  6/55/0.3 for example.

  • Model is now done, not fitted the two roof scoops as they've been wrongly scaled, they are just way too big for the roof, so instead of fitting them I've left them off.

  • That is coming along Ian, and those tins of "Humbrol" are a good indication of the size of the model.  My patience would have expired long ago !

It's definitely good that it's not tured in to put on the model shelf then while it can be afford to to be paid for the body n spoiler are looking good, l know it's not to everyone's cup of T as some stuff is questionable that is bought from it but there's also Temu you can get model tyres from, about 90% of what I've bought from it hasn't been too bad, it better if you can find the longer serving sellers of what you want rather than just what comes up first. Items can take from 1 week to 1 month depending on the seller. I've never had the rip off that I've seen mentioned that some say they had money taken without authorisation n I've bought a bit n my partner has bought tons and never had the problem. The best thing l find is if it's damaged / not right as explained or it don't turn up they refund straight out not like ebay where you have to wait for them to make a decision.. ( definitely will be good to see the end result now 😱.. )

Well I've messaged a handful of sellers who do replacement tyres for many 1/43rd cars but none do anything suitable for the wheels in this kit, so I'll have to make do with them, super glued up the further cracking and there's no more cracking appearing so hopefully there's no more stress in the rubber now so I'll sand the super glue down and paint them in matt tyre black.

Major body painting done, bit of a ball ache as it was all on blue first, then the light blue, then the cream, leaving it for a while to dry before handling the body.

Outer rims glued onto the wheel hub, used araldite for the gluing, gave me time to align them up.

I'll have to de-gloss the cream colour, just too shiny but is mixed Humbrol which are all gloss colours, used gloss Ivory & gloss yellow, one spot of yellow into the ivory, mix well, then a further drop and mix well, had to do that 9 times before the ivory went a nice cream colour.

when the whole model is finished I'll do a few coats of clear satin, should look ok for this tiny scale, a totally high glossed model will defo' make it look cheap & nasty.

I normally use a tin of humbrol next to a completed model,
this completed 1/43rd Reno' Turbo is literally half the size of the Sierra.

Gotta say as paulkp said you've got some patience, l find it hard enough doing bits on full size cars without having to mix the colours 😂 that cream look about right from what l remember of my mates brothers orion and that blue like you say if it was too glossy it would make it look like a cheap model and not the right colour either because it don't reflect light because they never used lacquer on it so the satin should make it look right but you'll know when you had done it.

Wheels are complete now with the tyre decals fitted, nightmare to say the least :Jumpy:

Painting the black around the windows neatishly was pretty well stressful :boxing:

On with the decalling, this is horrendous for me as the decal sheet is small with tiny decals,
each one having to be cut off the decal sheet, every decal is about 1/2mm to 1mm between
each, so got to be extra careful in cutting them off, I started the cutting & placing of the decals
from 9am this morning, packed up at 5pm as my eyes are killing me, should get the decal completed
tomorrow, then I've got to start and put the metal parts on the body....Grills/vents/towing eyes/lights.

Thanks Paul.

I've also got to try and paint a black lip on the inner screen plastic/glass like you see on the real car.

Done a count up on the decals :Jumpy: 65 separate decals on it :fear: ''Jesus give me strength''

65 !

That is a crazy amount of decals to be doing especially if you was at it from 9 - 5 the day before 🤯.. given the look of it at the moment it'll definitely look very nice when your done 😎👌

It's mad pal, started again at 9 but packed in at 1, doing my head in it is with so many tiny decals to put on, usually holding the decal with tweezers, then as I try to place the decal on the body, the decal has a mind of it's own and goes away from the body and inside the inside of the tweezers, what a ball ache, i'll get back on it around 2pmish, after a whiskey....lol

I'm not surprised if you have more than 1 with at job 😂 l would be using a magnifying glass to cut and place them.. if it was me I'd probably get 2 done a day then think that's it 😂😂 half way through ( woops it slipped in the bin ) as the rage set in 🤣🤣🤣 you certainly do have some patience with it 🫡

I'm beginning to feel guilty about this !!!

I'm actually using a magnifier when cutting the decals which are really close together, without such I'd make a mess of them

So you should be! :pokey: :hammer: :Jumpy:  [only kidding]

Whoever designed the decal sheet was a muppet so should feel more guilty, the decal sheet could have been made 3 times as big with wide gaps between each decal and each decal numbered so I know where each one goes, I have to keep looking on the net for the car which is a pain as there's the real deal & replica's, so there's differences to them all.

This is the so called 'decal placement' sheet :scared: It's very poor to see what goes where, on the boot it's very hard to make out the ford sierra rs cosworth badge & the 'team ford' sticker, why couldn't they supply decent pictures is beyond me......what a ballache.

Done a fair bit today, just the glass to put inside the body followed by the scuttle & wipers,
they going to be fiddly to say the least, the front quad headlamps was a mass of bits,
rear light bowls then lens with an outer surround, the last parts to go on the car will
be the single door mirror & spoiler......Getting there.

What I have noticed is there's not enough red stripe for the bumpers, that really sucks 😟

🤩

I was just looking back at the cossie's and just realised there is 3 diffrent design type 🤯..

1 white rear.

1 light blue rear.

1  deep blue rear.

Then l realised 1 of the Q8 badges on the front wing is right at the edge the other isn't, and the rear motor sport and ford badge are the opposite way around, and 1 of them has something holding the front bumper up too.. 🤯 plus the diffrent number plates.

All in all l think the way yours has gone would have been the better look on an original version.
