Ford Killed the Focus - why this is a sad moment

Featured Replies

Ford announced that the Focus replacement will be a hybrid crossover. Apparently, they will not offer an EV version.

To honor their heritage, it will be called Bronco. It will be completely unrelated to the USA Bronco and will be manufactured in Valencia, Spain next to the Kuga.

Why on Earth would they call it Bronco? Apart from the latest USA Bronco and Bronco Sport which have been available in some European countries the Bronco has never been a European Ford model. The Bronco has no heritage in Europe or the UK.

I quite like the USA Bronco but the €160.000,- price tag (including taxes) in the Netherlands did not make any sense. Virtually none were ever sold. I have only ever seen one in real life and that one was sitting in the showroom of a Ford dealership.

Why only offer a hybrid while the competition offers both hybrid and EV versions.

Let's hope this new Bronco will become just as big success as the Capri and Explorer EV.

In Italy Ford Bronco is available at the price of 72000€, but I've never seen one of them as well.

For what concern the new...Focus, or what they will call it, I'm quite sure that Ford doesn't care anymore of the european market.

Yes, there has always been an element of that, together with some poor drivers who choose big vehicles so that when they have an accident they are less likely to get hurt. ☹️

Has the proportion of big ego and poor quality drivers changed to such an extent that would lead to an increase in the number of SUVs on the road?

I recently purchased a Puma, its basically a jumped up Fiesta. I would have preferred a Focus but there were fewer of those available to buy and they are were coming to the end of their production so I opted for the Puma instead. I believe the Puma is now the smallest Ford available. Its huge compared to the old Ka or Fiesta.

I parked my mums 2009 Ford Fiesta yesterday, right next to a SUV that filled most of the parking space and towered above the Fiesta, most times it's lovely parking a small car, need bigger parking spaces for SUV's, I can't see the point of them, each to there own I guess.
