Should I Buy Or Is This A Bad Move? (Please Help)

Hello all!

I am really hoping for some good advice before I decide whether or not I should make this purchase.

Basically my wife and I are in need of a bigger and newer car to replace our existing 2002 model Ford Focus.

We went to our local Ford dealer and told them what we were looking for.

We were told that they had just the thing in Scotland which was an ex mobility car (Ford Focus 58 plate 1.8 Petrol Climate, Vision blue) 26,000 Miles.

Priced for just over £8000.

We liked the sound of it and although we could not physically view the car in person as it was up country we were shown around a 1.6 version but was told it would be exactly the same visually.

However me and the wife went to the dealership today to see if it had arrived (we were told we would be phoned as soon as it came in) and to our surprise it was there.

Myself and the father inlaw took a look at the car and noticed that the paint in the position of the picture had totally flaked off down to the bare metal on both sides of the car in the same position.

We went in and stressed our concern and they said "don't worry everything will be sorted and we should have not viewed the car before it was cleaned and everything was sorted with it)

My concern is to whether they repaired it properly or if we take it and then a few months down the line it happens again.

It may come down to it being an ex mobility car that it has been knocked against by a wheel chair in and out of the car or something?

Please could you advise us with your opinions as we want ot make sure we make the right choice.

(This isn't our car just an example to show the area of damage)

For a Zetec Climate it sounds a bit expensive, I have just bought a 58 plate 2008 Focus Titanium 1.8 petrol Estate with metallic paint and 13,800 miles on the clock, this was ex Motability and looked like new. (£8,200 for the top of the range Focus).

If there was any rust on the damaged bodywork steer clear as this may re-appear eventually through the new paintwork in the future.

There are plenty of other cars out there for sale, look else-ware, unless you can get a better deal on the Zetec.

all fords have the same issue its a design flaw however they will re paint these areas and if you use this stuff http://www.ebay.co.u...=item4ab39ecb36

4 0f these and trim to fit in the places marked in white on both sides as in this picture almost every focus will have had these repairs done at some time most people will say no but since its done before you buy then most will never know. the 2 largest areas marked are where the paint goes to bare metal mudflaps are also needed and you could convince them to fit them before you buy

id say yes please to this one mate,

the stereo in it is worth over £1,000 and the tinted windows are an extra too, and they are 17'' Alloy wheels according to the spec it has a heated windscreen and 2 flip keys,
