Hyrule
LOL, as much as I dislike most cyclists with cameras on their helmets due their innate ability to go looking for trouble, this one gets my vote. Cornflakes at 30mph...get in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Gq5WqzUJbI

jeebowhite
love it! and this is the reason that the laws are tighter and more are punished. I hate to be the one to point it out... but look at the car he is actually driving....

g1ygj
I followed someone pouring hot tea/coffee out of a flask into a cup in his lap at 60 mph on the M42. As it was before mobiles I stopped at a roadside phone and rang the police and reported him. Pity he didn't spill it! jeebowhite
the amount of times I have dialed the police whilst driving.... This is why I would love a dashcam (hoping to convince the Mrs still!) then I could turn the camera, get them to wave and then send it in to the local office. Even if I can get just one person scalded for their stupid actions (no pun intended) it would be worth the investment, and if I could save myself blame in an insurance incident... better still!

Incontro
This isn't too different than texting while driving... The number of times I have seen people (esp. young, female, hair dresser types) on the road texting while driving on the morning commute is staggering. If only I could take a photo of every offender I saw, including vehicle registration, and send it to the cops as evidence. I am sure a nice FPN of £100 and 3 points would make their day. ^_^
jeebowhite
haha, Cheers Vicki, I have convinced Santa to bring me a dashcam, just have to pick one now... and hope I stay off the naughty list to ensure I get it!
Stoney871
I use an app on my S3 called Daily Roads Voyager. Does everything a dash cam does and overlays GPS data. It has settings for a G meter to autosave footage and also can save a preset length of video by merely touching your phone screen. It does everything a dedicated dash cam does and IIRC is FREE! :) Sent using Ford OC mobile app
jeebowhite
Unfortunately for people like me (with budget smartphones) the camera quality means that you can get the general picture but not specifics enough to have a clean video for the officer in the event its needed. I used to use autoboy from the android store, that had a free version and worked rather well. I am sure that for the upper market smartphones it will do perfectly, but if like me you have a budget device, then you probably wont get the benefit from it! Stoney871
You could give that app a go. It's surprising what picture quality you can get.
jeebowhite
tried it, its a good looking app, but the quality is still pants :p besides, the Mrs owes me a good Christmas present, it might as well be something very functional and that will hopefully get some fist locked up for being a douche! Stoney871
I'd send you one of my work car cameras but someone might notice it's missing. You can read a numberplate at a half mile easily. Sent using Ford OC mobile app
jeebowhite
A very kind offer Clive :) if only we could offer that exchange :p Got my eye on a GS8000L, cheap but seemingly good and if I can get one with a guaranteed year long warranty?
