GothicRebel
Hi all. Just bought myself a 64gb fat32 USB stick. I've added over 4k of music. But it's only playing 1024 of the tracks. How do I get it to recognise all of the music?
higgsy
Maybe the stick itself. Have you updated the firmware on the module to the latest from the ford connectivity site? I have a 16gb Kingston data traveller in mine and is has more than 1024 tracks on it and it works fine in mine.
higgsy
Try putting over 1024 tracks on a smaller capacity stick and see if that works OK if your firmware is already up to date

higgsy
Yeah I would give it a try. With the interface you get in the focus I feel that have navigating through 50 or 60 folders is a little clumbersome , about 20 is good for me. To be honest I wouldn't be surprised it there was some kind of limit on folders/file path length etc but can't find any info about this

higgsy
Hmm maybe 1024 tracks per folder? Try putting them in folders and see what happens? Just a thought as mine are foldered per album etc
mixmasterlooney
1024 is 1kb it seems your problem is the file format system fat32. This format has a single file size limit it may well be the other files exceed that size. Try formatting the drive to a different format such as NTFS. of course back up your media on a different drive first everything will be deleted. Another possibly is that files may not be readable from folders. You could try using a sync program like windows medua and transfer your files through thst it should create the needed formats and folders readable Sent from my GT-I9300 using Ford OC mobile app
higgsy
The Max file size for FAT32 is 4GB, its not really ever going to be applicable here as they are music tracks so prob a Max of around 10mb or in my case I have a lot of mixes that are around 150mb. My 16GB stick is formatted in FAT32 and has no restrictions. Not 100% but I'm not sure the system will support NTFS (remember reading it somewhere), think its got to be FAT32. We are talking number of files the system is reading not really file size. Another thing is are all your file types the same, as the system will only support mp3, wav and non drm protected wma

Has to been 1000 songs per folder. I did have all my music set to 4k worth of them just in the root of the USb stick I then arranged them 1024 tracks to a folder and folders named A-F, F-P, P-Z. But it kept saying Invaild. So im going to redo the folder names as it says in the book. Ford1, Ford2, Ford3. and only have 1000 songs per folder and see how that works
higgsy
My folder names are just the album names and list in alphabetical order. Unless there is a minimum folder name length
