stef123
Certaibly worth checking the connectors under the seat first
martyn j
What connector an I looking at inparticular ? Sent from my HTC One using Ford OC mobile app
jeebowhite
It sounds more like a connector under the passenger footwell fusebox, if your ABS and ESP arent working. Its possible they are two seperate issues, but start off by checking the basics with the connections.
martyn j
Yes they are separate issues just want to know if anyone had same problem and how they fixed it Sent from my HTC One using Ford OC mobile app
jeebowhite
Well, I had this issue recently and although its gone away, the issue normally is the connector is loose and needs to be disconnected and reconnected, but the battery should be disconnected for 20 minutes first to make sure you dont trigger the airbag deployment. The ABS and ESP fault may be as simple as a faulty short loom or wheel sensor, you need error codes to really identify exactly where the issue is. If you have the trip computer, turn the key to 0, press and hold reset, then turn the car over and let go of reset only when you see test on screen. press reset repeatedly to cycle the menus and you will get to DTC - is it none or are there any readings? martyn j
Could the ABS and ESP not be working due to broken bulbs behind dashboard ? Sent from my HTC One using Ford OC mobile app
jeebowhite
highly unlikely, that is just a notifier, if they arent working it means that a common element they both use is not working. Perhaps either a bad ABS sensor, or a module, or a short loom for that matter!
