How's the easiest way to get it out? I've got another one from a mk7.5 as it's nicer and mine is worn.

    Open the door and take off the plastic end panel on the dash carefully using a plastic tool to prise it off. There is a small slot. Insert screwdriver in the slot to release the switch by pressing down on the top retailing bar so it pops out of the facia then pull it out and release the electric cable by pressing the bottom retaining bar. (from the Haynes manual page 12.4)
