99 Mk1 Key Fob

Hey guys.

As from intro thread, I have just bought this, and with it being a bit of an older gal, has come with only 1 key.

The key is a single button version, and does not operate the central locking.

I have changed the battery, and also found out that the bulb in the key is broken (not sure if this affects the working of the key or not.)

Have looked all around and cannot find a key fob that matches anywhere.

I am only interested in the innards really as obviously a different chip would not work.

Am also interested as how to program the single button version, as the handbook only has the 3 button types.

Cheers in advance

Tony

Could very well be mate, had a feeling it wasn't the right one lol

guess it will be a dealer job, but not worth it with the price of the car lol

Sorry that should have been 'does not operate the remote central locking'

Your car may not even have remote central locking. The lower spec versions of the focus MK1 did have central locking without remote central locking.

A single button key with a light bulb is just a torch and no remote control. Lower spec Focus MK1 versions without remote central locking did have a standard ignition key or the 1 button torch ignition key.
