Hg7196
Shame to see your fez go! But I do like the Polo.. Good decision especially in that blue! Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
FOCA
But - its not a Ford! I always think VWs are as over-rated as much as Fords are under-estimated

Rossbclarke123
Sorry to say this but the polo just doesn't do anything for me far to bland
Andymoz87
Both are nice cars but I just can't imagine the polo putting a smile on my face when I boot it, the fez for me wins every time.
Paramanic
I'm not keen on VW but if it's what u like go for it! But personally I wouldn't lol Fiesta means celebration/party! Polo is something I eat to make my breath fresh for a party ;)
MattDRX
Go all out and get the Polo R or Audi A1 Quattro, 240BHP and 4WD, all fully speccd. also quicker than any Ford currently, expensive though, about 22K.
Phil 87
I've heard good things about the Polo, but how much does it cost? I wouldn't be surprised if you can get a Fiesta ST for the same money (or even less).

MattDRX
ST is a good few K less ,but not as quick and build quality of the Polo is far superior, VW Finance is expensive too, over 8% in most cases, makes a huge difference in the long run. prefer the A1 myself, highest residuals around. StevenST13
I switch from a German to ford because they are the most boring bland cars to drive ever. For me the steering has no feel what so ever the dsg gear box is good in auto or sport but if you want to have fun and go in to manual it's crap. It won't change down when you want it to and u will never be able to red line it as the gear box craps it's self just over 5k and changes for you. Plus be very very careful as the polo has the tsi engine if its out of warranty. They have a low end super charger and high end turbo these blow for fun and to repair them it's 5hrs for engine out 3hrs strip and fit new parts which will cost 2.5k plus. The other thing is be prepared to buy the posh petrol or the engine will coke up like mad all VAG cars have this problem. I'm not trying to put you off but I'm just giving me experience with them and if you look on line these are all well know faults. I find my now fiesta st 2 more fun, more steering feed back, they are actually a lot quicker then the polo. If I was to recommend between the two go ST not GTI. I will say do some research on the polo GTI, Ibiza Cupra and Fabia Vrs online and find out about the problems they are prone to have. And if you look at all the car magazines even the new 1.8 turbo polo GTI doesn't beat the fiesta ST and that will be a 2year old car when it arrives. But good luck with the sorting a new car as I had the same problems you've faced with my last car so had to change it too.
chrisroberson99
Not really the cars fault you crashing it though.... German cars are expensive and boring. But whatever makes you happy.

Sorry, go out and buy a VW that doesn't exist or an audi that's no longer made and used costs nearly £40k. The audi S1 is 228bhp is nicely put together and goes alright but is very expensive. OP shame you feel like this about the fiesta but it could happen in any car, the polo will feel more solid but is a it dull to look at and possibly to drive too.
JoeZS19
Lol Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC I nearly bought a polo r line before getting my zetec s ( dealer sold it before I had chance to test drive it). The build quality of the polo, inside and out is really good and has a nice solid door thud. But I read reviews and nearly everyone says the polo is boring to drive compared to the fiesta, so stuck to what I knew and got an ecoboost! I would defo look into the st aswell as the gti if I was you and see which one gives you a bigger smile!

Polo r will be next year. Audi S1 quattro is 25k according to audis website right now, may as well get a year old 135m or S3 for that cheddar though. Even Polo GTI looks pretty boss. Pointless over the ST mind same specs. People aren't allowed to dislike their fiestas on here are they? They must be so awesome Ford set the price at 17k due to the sheer volume sold alone, Ze Germans have got it all wrong. Op if you want power and to spend 10k how about going a bit older like a Impreza STI hatch? Will destroy any of these things, evil looking things too. chrisroberson99
Why don't you sell it then? You obviously like boring, soulless German cars so just go and buy one...

So therefore the polo r doesn't exist yet, you first said the A1 Quattro which was a limited edition (333) not the current S1 which is £25k with no options. Is it possibly thst the OP budget can't stretch to that much and that a his current car and a polo are both sensible options.
