Possibly because it's big and they think they'll intimidate hatchback drivers who stick to the speed limit (whereas they actually look stupid and are more of an annoyance when they're filling my rear view).

Exactly, it looks like one of those cars that is only bought by people who just want something to get them from A to B and fit all their stuff in, or the dealer just persuaded them to buy it.

They are the smaller than an ant, I'd be more intimidated by another hatchback than one of those. They just sit ridiculously high up (probably has a horrible center of gravity, and rolls around corners).

We were offered a Nissan Joke as a hire car in Florida last year. A quick $10 bung to the Hertz guy in the parking lot and we had an upgrade to a Dodge :)

People who don't know how to drive round a roundabout without almost taking out my front bumper.

I had one at 1am this morning at a mini roundabout. This mini roundabout is odd as it joins a busy country lane to a busy main road but drivers on the main road can't see what is coming from the country lane, hence the give way markings.

I approached the roundabout to turn right onto the busy main road. Did the usual checks; mirrors, indicator, check the right. All clear, except a car to my left, so I pull out and slam on because some blonde bint shoots onto the roundabout from my left at about 40mph when she should've stopped to give way (my priority).

About 50 yards down the road, I flashed my headlights (to make her aware of my presence) and she pulled over. Needless to say, I shouted at her and remind her how roundabouts and give ways work, she looked startled.

I don't know what's worse, the fact that people don't know how to use roundabouts or the fact that she didn't know I was there at all.

I love those prats that cut accross mini roundabout and then look at you (who is currently on said roundabout) because you've made them stop.... It's a ROUNDabout you halfwits, not an aimatyourexitabout....

Samsung. I'm rapidly developing a strong dislike of Samsung.

Took my phone into an Authorised Service Centre because of a charging fault (common S5 fault apparently).

Chap in the shop informed me that they couldn't repair it on site - they have to send them to Samsung. Fair enough - back in 10 days, it's a warranty claim.

Fast forward 13 days - I've still not got my phone back! Asked the shop to chase it down.

Turns out, it's awaiting an estimate to repair. The "Engineers" are under the impression the phone has been rooted - therefore, not covered under warranty...Ohh, it's ok - they'll still repair it...£200

Err...I've NEVER rooted a phone, and never intend to either!! all of my apps were Play Store or Amazon App store downloads - nothing requiring root access.

Not happy with that, I called up Samsung myself...struggled to locate the phone/repair details. They can't overturn an engineers decision. However, if I want a 2nd opinion - I can ask for my phone back and re-send it...to them...the same people...but that'll cost me £20!! I'm also left with a contract I cannot use - I'm already down a third of the month (a further £12 ish).

The shop say there's nothing they can do, Samsung are saying it's not their problem!!

Roll on tomorrow morning, I'm going to go in to the store and get this sorted!! Preferably without costing me a penny!!

I'd say they're probably in breach of something here, maybe the kind of thing that trading standards deal with. They're basically accusing you of causing the problem when it's clearly a problem on their end. I'd tell them that you're going straight to trading standards and see if that wakes them up a bit.

It's up to them to 'prove' it's rooted not you to prove it isn't.

If the fault is from factory then they must replace or repair foc.

Jukes. . Lol I encouraged one to move over so I could overtake, if mindel can move it then it really has no value. Also king seen one try to park it couldn't get into a gap with two feet either side of the damn thing.

As for Samsung, all you can do is contest it. Ask for evidence to support there claim, resubmit it and hope you don't get the same person looking at it, or have it independently assessed, alternatively repair the thing yourself.

I can't remeber where it's written, but I know they cannot hold the phone to ransom for a £20 fee - it has to be proportional to the value of the goods (same arguement I had with Nationwide Auto Repair...I won!!)

Wow! That I didn't know!!

The phone was ordered over the phone, direct from Three as an upgrade - part of the sales patter is "brand new sir, in the box - brand new" (sister got a similar spiel earlier this week lol)

I did install an app that recquired Root access - but it didn't work...because it wasn't rooted - but presumably if they've just re-flashed with the original OS, then it won't allow root access, despite looking rooted.

I did have a thought earlier...bit of a guess - but if they've determined this by plugging it in to a computer...using the USB port...which is not working...see where I'm going with this?

It's a pig of a job to DIY apparently - requires removing the screen, or so I'm told.

In other things I don't like:

It could be they saw an app had requested root and made an assumption.

Rooting wouldn't lock the usb port out, but I would insist on seeing the evidence. I would argue this device wad from supplier and the root count was previously validated as being null.

The question the USB problem raised was "If it's defective, how can they plug it in to check...it doesn't work..."

I most certainly will be requesting they provide me with evidence!!

On the subject of 'new' phones.

I upgraded last year from an S3 to my current S5 and as the S3 was kept in a protective case from day one it was mint.

O2 employee stated to me "as your phone is in perfect condition it will most likely go back to Samsung to be reprogrammed, new battery fitted and sold as factory refurbished or passed to someone else as a like for like swap if theirs is unrepairable".

The phone was a year old (a brand new replacement phone for a Sony Xperia S I broke by dropping on duty).

In that case I think you're ok, I'm with Three too and they don't seem like the kind of company that would cheat you like that. I'd think it's only the smaller phone sellers that would try and scam you. The big phone companies can buy the phones in bulk so there's no need for them to try and sell thousands of fake new phones.

Spoke to my insurers a few weeks back to get details on how to swap my private reg and cover the new car from 1st Sept. Everything went well...I just need to let them know when I change the reg and they'll amend for no charge as I'll be swapping the car, which incurs a £19 'admin' fee. Fast-forward to yesterday when I got around to swapping the plate (which is now instant with DVLA). I phoned the in insurers again but this time my call is answered by an <ahem> overseas call centre. It took best part of 20 minutes before she finally understood that I wanted to change the registration of my CURRENT car and not swap the policy to my new car (that I do not yet have). She then tried to charge me an admin fee to do this! I politely told her I was not paying £38 (£19+£19) in admin fees to change my details (which is over 10% of the policy cost) when I have one month left on the policy. After being put on hold several times, she agreed to swap the reg without a fee. No doubt the next battle will be when they tell me what ludicrous amount they want for a renewal. I'm already ahead on that game and have several quotes lined up.

Real estate agents that don't answer their phone. I mean really??? How else are you supposed to do business!!

Van drivers who cut you up on roundabouts, and then raise their hand at you in frustration, despite the fact you are signalling correctly. (No horn used either)
