Had a go in a peugeot 308 top of the range 15 plate,my friend had one with the deal they have.

So nice to drive and being a 1.6 diesel it don't half go and so quiet for a diesel and uses nothing.

Loads of stuff on it,nice car.

People are always saying to me, "why don't you get an old banger for your first car? It won't matter if you wreck it!" The thing is, with me personally, I'd be devastated whether it was a 20 year old Escort (they're rare now!) or a 2 year old Focus. Cars are very important to me and I do form a bond with them. Sounds weird I know!

I definitely agree about bonding with cars haha, that happens to me too. As for changing to a bigger car, I'd probably be ok with that cos I keep driving like my car is bigger than it is, leaving bigger gaps than I need to. But then I've never had even a slight bump or even curbed an alloy in nearly 10 years of driving, so I haven't really learnt how close is too close lol.

Peugeot have really upped their game with their new models. The interiors on them are very impressive!

Pleased to see I'm not the only one about cars, I guess some people just don't understand the concept of bonding with a car, whatever it's age or value.

Back on topic, and as I mentioned in another thread I'm really loving the Alfa 4C, whether it's realistic or not. Saw one the other day and it made my day until it turned off the road I was following it along.

I just don't think I could ever afford one unless 2nd hand ones will come down in price, and I imagine parts would be really expensive (and being an Alfa that would be a common problem lol). Do these kind of cars tend to hold their value due to how rare and sought after they are? I'm just hoping they will come down in price...

I expect they will retain a lot of their value as they're still rare. New Alfas hold their values pretty well, much more Thant the equivalent Focus or Fiesta. Same couldn't be said for the old 147 which lost 80% of its value in 7 years!

I think in reality I could only get a car like that if I had money to burn on a car that's just to have fun with on weekends. Watched a review on Youtube and in terms of storage space, you get 2 cup holders and a tiny boot where you could probably fit a couple of small shopping bags. So not that practical to use as a daily driver lol.

I fell lucky with mine in one way as it's got loads of stuff on when i had it.

This is if i go newer to eco boost or so on i will need to pay so much to get the same spec.

As for bonding with a car i think it's true as i have had a few cars in past 5 years and this one just clicked.

I think i would have to try a few out there but would stay fiesta size if i did change from ford, big IF.

Question aimed at Fiesta owners: Do you find the Focus too big for your taste?

Question aimed at Fiesta owners: Do you find the Focus too big for your taste?

For me, yes. But it's usually just me in the car and the boot is almost always empty, so a Focus would just be added weight and expense.

Haha, I don't care, I love the Focus! Might as well have the extra space.

When choosing after the Mondeo, and needing a smaller car I tried a fiesta and a focus back to back on test drives and just found the focus far too big for me. Like the pp it's often just me in the car and the back seats are wasted, so with the focus there's so much more wasted space. I'm on my 3rd 3 door fiesta right now and loving it, and I can count on one finger the amount of times the back seats have been used

Space is king eh? :)

When buying the Focus I have at the moment, I looked at several Fiestas. The cabin felt too small for my height, I am 6"1, and there wasn't much room for my legs, and my head was literally touching the roof. lol

That's strange, I'm 6 foot and I have loads of room. The seat could go quite a bit further back too, and I have a good few inches of headroom with the seat all the way down. In fact in my last Fiesta I used to have the seat all the way up and that was ok too, until I decided to lower the seat for a more sporty driving position :)

Maybe it was just me being daft then, haha.

Love the Mondeo and love the space. Couldn't see me going back over anytime soon.

A 6th Former at my school has a 15 plate Mondeo. Lucky bugger! :D

Daddy/Mummys car????

Daddy/Mummys car????

That's what I was thinking lol. It's a bit different to the typical student car i.e. a 10 year old rusty Corsa.

I asked him about it and apparently it was a present from his parents.

Spoilt brat

His parents are idiots. Sadly I suspect that mean machine will end up in a tree sometime very soon.

Yeah I agree. I certainly wouldn't say no, but surely a bit unnecessary?

Who? Me or the guy? It's been in the car park for a few weeks now though. But not there much now as he's on exam leave.

The guy, might be BSing or implying it is for him, that's all I was thinking.
