Well it's certainly possible. Even if it's his parents car they must trust him to lend it to him!

So my mum has been having car troubles lately, requiring warranty visits to the dealership.

A lot of faffing around happened, and skipping the long story, Enterprise provided a loan car:

toyota-auris-1.6-v-matic-icon-plus--hatc

I must say, I was quite impressed. The ride was definitely quieter than my Focus, and it also handled the numerous pot-holes in my town better too. At idle, the engine is completely inaudible. The only downside was that I found the cabin was a little cramped compared to the Focus.

It was in 1.6L petrol form, and apparently has 133 HP, and achieves pretty good MPG figures. Loaded with tech too - all sorts of goodies. The fact that it had a 5 year factory warranty would make it a great used buy, and prices are very reasonable.

Really tempting!! :)

Anyone else been in one of these?

Tbh I think you'd get bored with it after a short time...they're not made to be fun to drive.

I do admit that it won't be as fun as a Mustang. But it seems like a reasonable car to keep until you can save enough for a more flashy, fun car.

I had a Toyota avensis for 3 weeks, it was flashy too and muat admit the ride was better than the cmax, but then again the cmax was 8 years older and had seen a lot more action out there.

For me Toyota seems good, but I would be worried about this...

Last months recall - fire hazard

Last week's recall - brake failure

This week's recall - steering wheel comes off in your hand!

Then ad your driving to the dealer to get them all fixed a fire brakes out in your abs, fries the brakes and as your doing 60 down the country road, suddenly you have steering wheel for a hat. At that point I would probably have a thought that rhymes with 'oh duck' and just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride...

Haha great post Jeebs.

It's just that Ford's warranty pales in comparison to some of its competitors, and even when it is within warranty, I have heard some shocking tales on this forum. And many Ford's still seem to have a problem with rust, which is really annoying.

I also forgot the fact that on a Ford forum, some slight bias may exist. ;)

I forgot to add one!

Since the recall recently of airbags exploding in your face.... that would just be my luck to have that when I have no steering wheel :p

I must admit, when I had the Kia, they were no picky at all when it came to the warranty. I had them do a good few bits of work after 3 years, but then it is a 7 year warranty.

I think Ford sadly are behind the time offering only 3 years.
