Brigante
Random one but are the tail lights led or still just halogen bulbs? I think they look like halogen but I could be wrong
Stoney871
I believe they are still halogen. The indicators and reverse lights certainly are. I'll know for sure at the weekend, I'll have a good look when I swap out the amber bulbs for silvatec types and fit cree bulbs instead of the standard reversing bulbs. I will actually be without the car from Wednesday afternoon until Friday afternoon. I'm having a tracker fitted and also the car is going back to the dealers to touch up a scuff I spotted under the front lip when I collected it on Friday. They're giving me the diesel ST demonstrator I test drove for a couple of days, the paint will be sorted and then they are reapplying the DiamondBrite coating on the whole bumper. alexp999
The tail lights should be LED on the ST3, they are on my Zetec S. Brake lights are still bulbs AFAIK.
theredfox
nice to see ford fitting quality tyres on the st is that extra gauges on top of dash paul
Stoney871
The tyres have an anti-kerbing ridge on them which I think is a very good idea. Yep there are guages on the dash :d and very pretty they are too. I am quite chuffed with the ambient lights in the roof console, footwells and door catch recesses. Must admit I had it up to (insert a Jeremy Clarkson mumble here) 105 ahem I mean 70 without noticing. The steering is very direct and the throttle response is instant.

Stoney871
St2 and 3 definitely come with rear led lights Tail lights and brake lights are led, indicators, fogs and reverse aren't.
Stoney871
And the rear lights are a pig to remove. Two small black plastic wingnuts of which the top ones are particularly tricky as they're tucked up under the boot side plastic trim. They are very tight and need pliers and a cloth to undo. They don't look like they'll take much abuse either.

RAIDER32
The Mk3.5 ST is definitely better looking (aggressive), I never liked the oval cut in the front of the old bonnet, and the basic round fogs look boring. P.S. I noticed you photo-shopped out the markings in the parking spaces, I don't think that will get you out of a fine though, but nice try :D
chrisroberson99
Lovely! If I was being picky though I'd prefer silver alloys, but still

Ianb
CID? Coppers in disguise? In ST's? Seems like Plymouths crims might have problems...
Stoney871
I was going to do a piccy of my work ST and my BeaST next to each other but I ripped the gearbox on it during the week and have been stuffed with a normal Focus estate while they glue the pieces back together. I wangled the parking spot because I've been doing acting Inspector while my guv is having an op to repair a torn shoulder ligament.
Ianb
...not too shabby... Cooked the gearbox and the only 'problem' is you get landed with an ordinary focus for a week... Least you don't have to pay for it!!!

Least you don't have to pay for it!!! Aye, but driving a standard wagon is doing my box in. After driving ST's everything just feels .....well......slow. On another subject, I had some tool in a ST170 trying to race me this morning as I left work, I didn't even dignify him with a blip of the throttle. Anyone can drive like a chopper on city streets, with real power comes responsibility ;)
