  • Folks you may have noticed that I've been relatively quiet on here for a while. The reason being, my wife and I have bought our first house together. We are finally getting settled and all is well so

  • That house looks very small... Or is it just far away?

Thanks for the info buddy. I'll have a look through the car tomorrow.

Very interested in how you got the reverse camera working.

Cool. I've emailed the guy already so hopefully get it ordered this week. I had a look at the eBay link for the camera but it's not available anymore. I have a few other ones on my watch list until I decide which one to get.

had conflicting information to what type of camera to get, pal or ntsc , i went with ntsc version.

What's the difference ?

EDIT: never mind, I checked it out. Ntsc more fps amongst other things

Why did you chose ntsc?

i relied on wilko's (jw1982) vast knowledge to guide me and russian guy confirmed the same.

Right. Slight panic stations. I tried to use FORscan Lite app on my android tablet today. All went well, connected with my cheapo Bluetooth adaptor and browsed around. Didn't change anything at all and disconnected properly before I shut the app down.

Now just out of coincidence I just tried the test screen mode on the car there and it's showing a DTC code:

DTC #1 C558_64

Should I be worried? What's this stand for? Can I clear this using the FORscan Lite app on my tablet?

The last one is the code showing on the instrument panel.

Now I've got 4 codes showing up on the dash cluster.

From what I've read on two forum sites they're adamant that Forscan doesn't work on the mk3 focus. You have to use one called foccus (well similar to that, maybe even fococcus)

If I see it I'll tell you.

I'd be bricking it too with those codes showing.

FoCCCus software KPG. Used with a modified ELM which you may have. Good look.

I've cleared all codes stored in the car. I've checked with Torque and with Foccus and shows no codes. I haven't checked since but in test mode they always came back.

So happy with how it turned out. Relatively inexpensive when you compare to how much buying a new HU costs or the possibility of ford fitting one for you.

Foccus is a really cool tool to have. It's a bit scary at first but once you get the hang of it it's fine.

Just did a check there on the DTCs, all clear, no codes. I cleared them on Foccus so I'll keep an eye and check if they come back .

I did see a connector today working at the rear light. Should have taken s picture. It was on the driver side, a grey connector with a blue/white wire and some other colour coming from it. Not sure what it's for though.

Looks great, very interested in doing this, is there a guide on what to do and exactly what is needed?
