DB6431
Although primarily on here as I own a 1997 Escort Ghia, my camper van has a Transit base, so please could I pick the brains of you good Transit owners. On a long run recently the water in fuel light came on intermittently while going up hill, it was raining heavily at the time, have tried to drain the filter as per manual but all that came out was a hiss of air, no water or fuel, is this normal as I was expecting a little water followed by some diesel
MONDEO TXS 2.2
Does it do it on level ground ? Or only when going uphill ?
DB6431
Yes only on an incline, and it did not stay on, just a couple of seconds every now and then
MONDEO TXS 2.2
You said it hissed - air has water in it - so maybe a tiny airlock when going uphill ?
DB6431
Maybe, do I need to be worried though
MONDEO TXS 2.2
There's obviously a fuelling issue somewhere, I'd take it to a diesel specialist

MONDEO TXS 2.2
Definitely change the fuel filter first before doing anything else or spending £
