portobe17o
Someone called griffo, a "technician" advised me that the starter was at the front of the engine and an easy job. Now I'm being told to remove the battery which is about a mile away from any starter motor bolts!! Is there ANYONE on this forum that actually knows what they are talking about? portobe17o
The battery is about 2 feet above and to the right of the starter. I am not wasting time removing it and the tray when that obviously won't lead to access to the starter bolts!! Now, has anyone got any sensible suggestions? Has anyone on here actually changed a starter on a 2006 Fiesta Diesel ? I just want to know if, and how, it is done.

He's one of the most knowledgable people I know of regarding fords, it's quite a feat that you want to knock his input as if he is wasting your time.

bracins
Hi, has anyone got any idea or clue what to look for as my 1.6 tdci 2007 fiesta just won't turn over not even click, checked and recharged battery, checked all fuses and relays all good, tried jump start, and no result, thought maybe it's starter so pushed car and selected 1 gear then tried again no difference, all lights work 2 months ago full service wtf is going on? Please any ideas would be highly appreciated. Thanks
Motor Guru
The starter motor on a 1.4 tdci is not under the battery tray. It's actually at the rear of the engine in the centre just above the exhaust. It's not particularly easy to get to without a lift. Not an easy job for the home mechanic.
