Key programming issue Focus Ghia 1.6 MK1.5

Hi all, I have an 02 plate Focus 1.6 Ghia which I bought with only 1 key. Its the non-remote type with the blue clip in it.  I wanted to get the remote central locking working before I splash out on a full remote key (can't afford it at the moment) so I bought these - 2x Replacement Keyless Entry Remote Key Clicker Transmitter for Ford UK Ship New and have followed all the guides I can find online to program them but I cannot get the car to recognise them.  If I turn the key between II and 0 4 times I get the beep to say it's entered programming mode but I cannot get it to do anything else when pressing the keys on the fobs.

Am I doing something wrong?  I'd like to make sure this works before I go to the expense of getting a proper Ford replacement remote key.  Thanks in advance everyone

AFAIK those fobs are for the Transit Connect etc and not the Focus, I believe the coding frequency is different.

You need a proper Focus key/fob.
