Why park next to me?

Featured Replies

Sorry if I may have appeared to be jumping to conclusions/making assumptions in my previous post but I had got the feeling from a couple of other posts elsewhere that this may have been the case to avoid damage to cars. It is good to hear that you two genuinely needed the spaces - I have had plenty of customers coming into the supermarket where I work complaining about people who inappropriately use car parking spaces and have often seen people parking in parent and child spaces when they do not need to just because they are too lazy to park elsewhere or to avoid people hitting their nice new cars. I've also seen cars abandoned across two parking spaces (over the line) which is frustrating when there is just not enough room to park my car when there are no other spaces (this was the case on Saturday, but later found another space elsewhere). At the same time, I would be rather annoyed to return to my car to find damage to it by inconsiderate drivers bashing their doors and trolleys about!

Not a problem, there are too many people who park indiscretionally and illegally. I regularly see cars in disabled bays without the blue badge and child and toddler bays without children, but it's upto the stores to clamp down on it.

haha i like my reg plate, ubz ****, its not private but it hides the cars age. oh and if you say ubz it sounds kinda cool (or is that just me?)

It's just you. :P

Do you like it sooooo much that you'd key a BMW if it so much as kissed your reg plate. ;)

We have recently got an independent car park management company in to monitor our car park and impose fines for illegal parking. Quite a few customers got caught out by parking in the wrong bays and then we've had the odd few who'd forgotten to display badges and also received fines!

I don't hate private reg plates, I just think there are far better things to spend money on. Each to their own at the end of the day.

That looks great, what's your name again, Mii. Not one of the most common names around, you're not from the Nintendo family are you.

you know what, i don't think i'd do that. ever. most people seem really considerate when parking and i haven't any problems. i still can't understand how a slight touch at parking speeds caused that sort of significant damage though, the body work on a fiestas seems fairly robust.

At most, if something like that happened to me. I'd probably cover their car in bread crumbs. hehehehe! Or get a very well trained pigeon.

Me neither, but let's not forget, the damage was that bad, the poster forgot to mention it completely in his rant against the BMW driver. <_<

It (the damage)only materialised after said poster was criticised for their actions, as if to justify them. Personally, I get the impression there was no damage at all, but that's only my opinion.

Yeah has to be said you shouldn't just key someone's car - I understand your dilemma - though I wouldn't have keyed his car - I'd have waited for him - and questioned him on it - problem is - he comes back and says prove you didn't drive into my car - and you can't? Then what? There will always be arseholes in the world but karma will find it's way round to them ;)

There should definitely be punishment brought in for people who can't park or park inconsiderately/in disabled only parking bays - If I had it my way, Terry Tatewould be lying in wait for you double parking offenders...

that is an absolutely class idea. i'm tempted to employ him to stop me getting distracted from uni work, i reckon he would work wonders!

In my own personal opinion...

I would have moved the car back to check for damage, and if there wasnt any I would have driven off and forgotten about it... Personally I think thats the most sensible thing to do.

Way I see it only damage could have been a broken number plate, BMW driver would probably happily give you 20 quid to get a new one. IF NOT, then I would whip out the old camera phone and take some shots of the area and also the numberplate of the BMW and maybe even the driver, then nip home print them off and drop them down the cop shop!

Problem solved! no keying, fighting, etc needed!

Got a ding on my driver's side door, not sure when/where it happened but I don't remember it being there before. It's quite small so not too noticeable, but still annoying.
