Just bought this Focus Mk1 1.6 as a runabout, as my Jag has gone to the car heaven

Got loads of ideas on modifying it  (Wife's not impressed)

Thanks

Much better looking than my car. Mine has some marks, used coarse sand paper! Now it has scratch marks.

I think your front lights have been modified, mine are foggy.

That sounds pretty much like my girlfriend when I purchased my mk 2.5 a fortnight ago, I'm having to go for subtle mods to begin with such as changing all the interior bulbs, I'm gonna see if I can get away with a 35mm drop though 😉

That's a real nice clean mk1 you've got Daz and you've fallen pretty lucky with the headlamps staying that clear unless they've had a good polishing with a mop to get them that good as mine had a foggy offside one due to it loosing some lamination so i T cutted mine but it needs doing properly .

As for your mrs not liking the modding idea i'd start off very subtle like by fitting some nice second hand heated ST seats although the seats in mine aren't ST's the wife loves the leather covering and uses every opportunity  to switch the seat heating on ;)  ..

  • 1 year later...

Get the cold air intake from a 2.0 Auto. It is far better positioned than the normal intake for more air. Also check to see if the wiring for the front fogs is behind the blanking covers. If they are you just need the fogs and the switch. The wiring was already in place on the Mk1 I owned many years ago. May not be the same for the Mk1.5.
