Does anyone know what this wire is?

I found this wire sitting loose when I took my battery out.

I couldn't see anywhere that it was attached to or had come away from & the car seems to be running fine without it.

Any ideas what it is?

Cheers.

MAF sensor "Mass Air Flow"

If it is it should be in the induction box to check the temperature of the air being taken in to the engine,

Perhaps its the remains of an old one

nope, thats remains of heated windscreen ribbon on one end of that cable from what i can see. so either the heated screen doesnt work one side or a replacement screen has been fitted at some point.
