Side Plastic Window Trims coming loose

Hi,

In the last couple of weeks, the plastic trim is starting to come away from the driver and passenger side windows on my Fiesta. Would anyone have any ideas on the best way I can get them fixed back tightly into space. The passenger side one is now worse following a high head wind. I'm worried about them ripping off whilst driving.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks, Darren.

I have seen loads of fiestas with these missing.  if it was mine I would squirt some 'no more nails' in there and hold down firm with some tape until it dried. But make sure you don't overdo it or it will all squidge out round the edge and be difficult to clean off.

I know some people will regard this as a bodge but why spend more time (and money) in doing it a different way that achieves the same result.

These have been known for falling off. Best thing to do is remove it, remove the white plastic. Clips off the back

And then use Tigerseal or similar to reattach.

I used Bus window adhesive on the back of the girlfriends as her dad is in management at a bus company and it's going nowhere haha. Free fix

I've had that happen to a 2006 Fiesta.   I tried everything but the only thing that worked was buying and fitting a new one.

Even then.. Theres nothing stopping them falling off again

You can't have tried everything as what we used worked :p

Thanks for all your replies, I'm guessing it's just age that's loosened them up a bit. I'll try and hunt down some glue/sealant today

Cheers

i have the same prob with my focus.

back door trim started coming away within a few weeks of purchase , took it back to ford dealers for a fix and all they did was apply some adhesive and press it back in place

now im left with excess white adhesive now bulging out of the sides between black trim - yeah nice work boys FFS , clearly done by a chimp who didnt think to maybe use black sealant.

anyhow . once they are bent out of shape from wind deflection they never fit back into position correctly so you might as well replace them.

clearly a rubbish design across the range.

They fit perfectly back into place if you use decent sealant/adhesive and hold it for a few minutes :p

Araldite rapid works a treat, pull the trim off (it'll leave the clips in the bodywork) clean the old glue from the trim and the clips, mix up the epoxy (araldite rapid) and put it on the clips then offer the trim up and either clamp it in place or tape it tight with masking tape. (Lower the window and wrap the tape around the pillar). Did mine on my fiesta mk6 about 7 years ago and it's still on!
