There are members here who like to do things like that, but at the end of the day I don't expect to be lubricating a nine month old car myself... maybe nine years old would be a different story. It seems to be a mixed bag, some have the issue some don't, but for those that do its incredibly annoying, and there's been a mix of different solutions to the problem online, some regular lubrication, some have had parts replaced. I'll have to ring again some point this week to get one of their Technicians out in it with myself to replicate the issue for them then and see what they think. I appreciate everyones contributions but you have to understand that the sane member posting the same thing in the thread over and over again when I clearly asked for other contributions is nearly as annoying as the noise from my car itself.2 points

The aerial is bolted on above the light and has a rubber o-ring on it. It might just need tightening up slightly. I wouldnt touch it though if its still under warranty, just book it in to be sorted.1 point

The engine is sweet as a nut it's spent all its life In Lincoln, either that or its had a new engine at some point. The only problem with the car mechanically is the belts need replacing. I bought it for £380 Because it had an "EAC FAIL" and was idling high. I replaced a £6 hose behind the inlet manifold "Pcv hose" as it had a split in it and it's like a new car!1 point

Hello, I had pretty much the same problems with my recently bought Monde tdci. It would hesitate then the glowlight would flash then the engine would cut out. It did this whatever the speed or driving conditions. the mechanic I bought it off said it must be how I drove it, and that I must be "ragging" it! He honestly had no idea as to what path to go down. Through Internet forums, I decided the symptoms matched fuel filter and cam sensor faults, among others. As these were the cheapest, I decided to change these first at a total cost of £28. Now the car runs absolutely fine. Well worth a try first before going down the expensive routes I think. PS Great write-up by Dave there aswell.1 point

Deffo the water pump also, personally I'd get the belt changed by a garage who have good insurance in case it goes t i t s up. Then again, at 180k I dunno, it's pretty much in the grave? Lemme see, 180k will take me 60 years, i'll be 1281 point

you need a smart charger to charge up a enhanced flooded battery. also if you disconnect the battery the battery monitoring sensor wont know state if charge, and will take sone time to relearn, stopping the stop/start from working . just grab his keys and take it for a spin during the day without too much electrical load on letting the alternator do the job for you.1 point

Of course. You can buy a car that is cheap and takes you from A to B but you will not be able to turn round and look at it. Obviously am not saying go into debt and all but if you want something you like plan for it and get it. You only live once. A car and a house are the 2 most expensive investments you can do so do it well. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk1 point

The bonnet seals the top of the RS air box, that's why it's so much taller and has the rubber seal. The only extra bit of intake is the open bit at the front which should mostly pick up cool air coming in from the bumper and massive openings on the RS. The open top of the RS air box is there for dyno runs with the bonnet open. The reason your car feels freer with the k and n is not the open end but the reduced restriction and lower filtering capacity of the filter over the stock paper one. The stock paper filter is good for 350PS as otherwise they wouldn't use it in the RS. The k and n just provides better response but at the cost of lower filtration.1 point

So just because you havent noticed it before then it doesnt happen? It does unfortunately. I did ask if it had paintwork as that is another possibility. I was a car salesman at Fords and seen the bumper shades often but more noticable on certain colours. Here is a picture of my wifes old Punto that i mentioned, it never had any paintwork and the bumpers appeared off shade from certain angles. Certain paint finishes can also appear different if the paint was laid on at a different angle. This could happen to the bumpers if they are sprayed off the car lying flat as opposed to the car being in the upright position.1 point

Though I did walk through a stream waist high in my younger days. I was lost as I went through a country route short cut in the black country. I know it sounds silly but I had recognized some building and I had to cross it than I knew where I was. People thought I was mad, but it was at night and I was lost.1 point

I have been looking on YouTube and there are a few video's on changing the cambelt also the cost to replace the belt and pump £275 was quoted somewhat cheaper doing it yourself not that I would attempt to do it at my age. I going to take the advice of Russ as my car has just under 37000. Thanks for all the good advice. John.1 point
