  1. Get a load of this guys.... Went to take the missus to work this morning, we had our twin grandkids & grandson in the back, as we drove along we heard a clunk/bang to the offside rear of the car, thought something had broken, so pulled up and looked around the car, so we went home asap, missus went on the bus to work, I checks all over the car and can't find nothing wrong with the car, dreading the time to take the twins home because of the bad noise, drives a mile and no noise, odd i thought, then the clunk/bang happened but this time it was on the nearside.... i thought WTF same noise but the other side, then heard it again but this time i was stationary, so it couldn't have happened whilst in motion [suspension]..... I looks at the twins only to see one of them leaning forwards and grabbing hold of the door handle and trying to open the door, kiddy locks on so no way of opening the doors, she lets go of the handle......''''clunk bang''''' Never laughed so much in my life 😁😁😁😁

  4. I can attest to that! Some things looking back I'm glad I missed, but others would have been good to experience and who knows where I'd be now if I had been able to take those opportunities. Anyway this is the "do like" thread so I'll leave it there before I get too depressed!!

  5. Thanks Zain! I had a bit of a midlife crisis today and asked a barber to do something interesting with my hair...I was thinking some kind of high fade with a thick floppy top like the youngsters have... Poor barber was looking for a polite way to tell me there's not enough left to do anything with!! Also put myself down as 'attending' a local car meet tomorrow night...if I do get there I'll be the only one in slippers with a Zimmer frame moaning about all the noise!! On a serious note though...I do massively regret missing out on so many things through my teens and early 20s due to health (or lack of it!). 'Never too old' is a daft saying, it's simply not true for loads of things! With hindsight, I'd always tell youngsters to take any opportunities and push for things they want to do.

  8. @iantt and @TomsFocus happy birthday to you two. Might send a 🌹to your houses to celebrate this day 😂. Both of you have to stay in the 20s mood for this festive day @Lenny nice that your friend picked you up. Sometimes I wonder if I should just stay living at home and save all my income for a car like that or just try my luck with the possible future wife if she can pay the monthly mortgage for our house 😂. I do hope I can afford a nice car like that but honestly the big thing is what job I'll get.

  12. Hi all, So I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to the gearbox in my car. I have a 2013 Fiesta 1.0 ecoboost 125. I have scoured around the net and across all forums but am still not sure what I shoul do. So as most may know, these gearboxes are famed for synchro issues especially when remapped. I am looking into remapping mine, stuck between REVO and Bluefin at the moment. Only thinking about stage 1 for the mo. I've read the pros and cons but if anyone has experience with either then feedback would be appreciated. Now I know the gearboxes don't like the extra torque. So I need advice on what I can do to prevent breaking it. I have seen some say use the 6speed ST gearboxes, others say look towards pumaspeed. As I said I am a novice on this so any help would be appreciated.

  21. @Lenny I'm sure you treated her to something nice today 👍. Exactly agree with your last statement. Remember my dad's friend. Lives in a one bed flat with the mortgage paid off. Think I heard he got money when he got divorced which paid the mortgage off. Earns around the same as my dad but bought a £40k audi RS4 then moved to a Mercedes SLK55 AMG then a Peugeot RCZR. I funnily found some viagra tablets in my dad's cupboard. I showed my mum whilst laughing and she said dad gives them to that friend of his and doesn't take it. She then joked saying he's friend must have some young girlfriends which probably is why he asks for it 😂. I think dad gets given those tablets along with the diabetic medication he gets from the gp.

  23. Yup, my bet is on the battery as well, but here's a cautionary story. My 56 plate petrol Focus was left for 2 weeks when I was on hols. I came back and tried to start it at 03:00 one cold early morning. Click click - no starter motor action. This was not completely unexpected since the battery was most likely the original one from when it was built. I had previously been over all the earths and battery connections when I did an earlier engine job, so that was ruled out. A bump start on the slope was a failure. Called a taxi. Went back and in desperation tried it again. After several attempts getting click click, it just about cranked and started. Cancelled the taxi, paid him for turning out and drove the 20 miles home. I fitted a lead light to the solenoid terminal to establish if the power was getting that far on cranking and placed the light in the passenger footwell . Every start was fine after that, well the battery had been charged up by the recent run, hadn't it. Oops, a no start and the power was getting to the starter OK, the light lit up confirming that. I struggled the old starter motor out and fitted a recon one from the local parts shop. It now works perfectly every time, feels as if the cranking speed is faster than before and it's still on the same ageing battery. As I said at the start it's almost certainly your battery, I had myself convinced my battery had expired till I checked it out fully. ScniaPBman.

  25. It is a bit of a faff isn't it? I'm sure they could make it easier the MK 3 Mondeo was dead easy pull two pins and the units just lifted out, it got a bit more tricky on the MK4's you had to slacken of the grill mounts to get room to wiggle the head lights out, but on the CMax there is hardly any clearance, undoing other brackets made no difference, I've done a couple now and know how to wiggle the units.

  26. The leaked tool which puts the unit in "factory" mode formats the APIM storage and re-partitions it for 3.2+ Sync. Sync 3.0 uses a different partition layout so they won't be able to load when running the tool again. A Sync 3.0 format tool has not been leaked, so once formatted, you can only load 3.2+.

  29. I thought I would try & move this post to what I now think is the correct section I will probably now get done for multipul posts or something! seems you have mods with very short fuses on here! If my post gets deleted that will be the last one I make, becuase if I make the effort to write this to try & help my fellow Ford owners its just that I trying to help others I don't expect a slap down for a newbie mistake! I have a 2013 Fiesta Titanium X 1.6 Powershift auto 5dr. I bought the car in Sept 2019 after getting fed up with changing the 6 gears on my Mini Cooper I had for 4 years. I did my research & was careful to check how the automatic gearbox shifted on the car. This was after seeing many mostly USA posts on forums of broken powershift fietas & focus which seemed to be down to an oil leak onto the dry clutches & invovled an expensive trip to the dealer gearbox out new seals etc. Most seemed to be done under warranty Anyway mine seems fine but when my battery went flat it was the tranmission that said it was faulty service now I don't use my car very much as I am retired, so it spends most of it's time im my garage. As you guys know cars don't like to be left in the garage & brought out once a week for a short journey! I try to drive a bit more to put some charge into the batery when I can. So I caught a bug that was doing it rounds of my family & I was laid low for almost 2 weeks! so when I went to use my car the battery was pretty dead! It wounldn't start & everything was flashing on the dash as it tried to start it self several times without me pushing the button again! I poped the bonnet & disconnected the battery! My daytime running light were still on so I had to do something to turn them off! So I put my battery on charge just in case I would reuse it but previous experience with the same battery problem on my last 2 cars told me it's time for a new one. so I found the exact same Yuasa battery on eBay with free next day delivery with a 4 yr warranty for £58. which I thought was a good deal. Next day it arrived & I fit it to my car! first thing I get is a Tranmission warning on the radio display transmission fault service now! Plus the spanner & ECU lights on my dash! I went for a short drive & it only seemed to be using the first 3 gears & not changing up as normal to 6th gear! so I go home & google the problem. The posts I saw were not good first guy says TCM replaced New gearbox! Lots of posts with people getting the same happen on focus with a flat battery all poweshifts! Not many real solutions coming up! One showed how to reset the TCM by putting the car in neutral for 15 seconds! I thought well anything was worth a try at this point as I was thinking my car would have to go to the dealer! I saw some posts saying the car throws a code P0606 which is BCM/PCM I think from memory form my booklet. I had an obd2 reader I had bought off ebay about 15yrs ago for a Ford Ka that had some codes that needed clearing. So I searched around my garage for it found it & plugged it into my car. I pressed the start button just to turn the ignition on but not start the car! My cheap £7 eBay reader did it's thing & came up with a code P0606! I thought ok that's good as that's what's on google! So I erase the code turn off the ignition & remove the reader. I cross my finger & start my car! Phew massive relief the transmission fault warning is gone the spanner is gone as is the ECU light! Thank goodness for that as I really thought my car was knackered & needed an expensive trip to the dealer for goodness knows how manty parts etc! I went for a test drive & everthing was back working as before the battery went flat! I thought I would share this with you guys as many powershift cars from the same year as mine would be due for a new battery soon! I hope some of them might see my experience & not panic & think thier car was caput! If I hadn't of found my obd2 reader my local autoelectrics work shop clears codes for £20! So that would have probably been my next solution then ring my Ford mechanic who services my wife's fiesta I did start to see posts on battery savers that you plug in & it stop your ECU from losing all the codes when you fit a new battery! But this was after I fixed it! This may be a preventative solution to this problem! This was not a option for me but had I known about it I could have put one on before disconnecting my battery, which may have worked! Anyway guys sorry for the long post but I hope this helps someone!

  30. Thanks for putting this on here to help other in future, and having a logical title on it. A lot of posts on here start with a problem and it fizzles out with us never knowing if the problem ever got fixed and how, after some suggestions offered. Also some threads don't say in the title what it's about eg." Help please " which means if there is any useful info in that thread then it might not be looked at by others with same problem at a later date as the title did not indicate what aspect of the car might be in that thread.

  33. That reminds me of my great uncle who died , leaving me and my parents to clear out his flat. We found envelopes of cash all over his home in the furniture . From what I remember( was 40yrs ago ) there was £10k + . Alot of money back then I guess. He lived in a council flat, didn't work much( had downes syndrome) only ever traveled to the local shops . Suppose he never knew what to do with the money.

  35. It's usually a weak pump. They're getting quite long in the tooth by now. If you've got a code reader that runs on Forscan, then you can test the pump in this way: disconnect the electrical connectors to all 4 injectors and to the IMV., then monitor the frp (fuel rail pressure) while cranking the engine for <30secs. If the pump is good you should see a min of 1000 bar. Mine is weak and I get 850 bar and the same error as you're seeing.

  37. I don't like that the whole weekend is set to be wet and windy with the next storm coming through. My dad's partner found £500 of old £20 notes hidden within an old bed last week. She was clearing out the crap from my brother's old room and the money was stuck underneath one of the underside bed draws. If it wasn't found it would have been burnt along with the rest of the old broken wood!! Luckily my brother took the money to the bank who were able to exchange it to the current £20 notes.

  38. It does sound like a battery failure, a quick test would also be to get a battery booster and see if the engine turns over if it doesn't then you'd likely have a fault elsewhere or a short. I'd still take the car to garage or find someone who has a battery tester, or get a OBD reader on it and pull the voltage logs for the battery and/or the failure codes as assurance.

  39. are you saying it's just the taillight that does not work but brake light and indicator do? if so, you could take the easy way to do it and run a wire from the other taillight on the other side of car. sometimes it's just easier to work around the problem than to find out what the real problem is. I know some people will say this is a bodge.

  43. It really depends if it's actually buckled or not and how bad the damage is. A small rim dent can be repaired quite easily. Not really worth it on cheap standard alloys but very common on aftermarkets and rare stuff. If it's actually buckled, and the whole wheel is bent out of shape, that's not really repairable, it'll never be perfect again.

My mum had to take her to a private office to count it all, and it ended up being about £15,000 in various notes and coins, including plenty of old money, different currencies etc.

Public transport (round here) doesn't start or finish late enough for me to get in or get away at the correct times. Starting at 0630 and finishing at 0200 - not the same shift obviously.
