I knew I would enjoy it but I had a lot of worries, esp w lockdown meaning no-one could test drive the new mHEVs. 💖Love: the stop/start - I know!! Who woulda thought? Maybe cos it's a manual? But I actually look forward to hearing the engine cut out and it restarts so quickly and smoothly. steering - totally transformed from the 2019 models I test-drove which had way too light steering. 2021MY has steering feel 100% on point. gearbox - Ford have nailed the manual gearbox. new digital dash - looks a bit pants in photos but is great irl and the blue colour is actually pleasant! adaptive cruise - just soooo good to set and then leave it to maintain a distance AND it re-engages if you change up or down a gear DAB radio - Heart Radio 80's hits! How cool? My old rustmobile could pick up Radio 2 and 4. 😭 seats - just the right level of comfort. Much more so in the 2021 built model than in any 2019 models I have driven.... which even after 10K+ had hard seats. heated seats - hmmm. Yes please. Summers coming? Seats on max... aircon on max 🤘 engine noise - it's a mild thrum. 3 cylinders is fine. Haven't had the guts to floor it yet tho so that might change at 1001 miles! regen braking - does it? The hybrid gauge says so but it's soo mild I don't even notice. Was terrified this would be awful. Maybe it's not kicking in much cos the battery is full? But at 300 miles I have yet to notice regen at all. 💩 Not loving; Ford metal. Y'know, 1mm thinner than a VW (probably) so when I slam the bonnet down to close it I wince every time. And the doors crash shut rather than VW thunk shut. telematics - ugh. Submenu upon submenu to turn off all the 'send your driving data to us automatically when using wifi' nonsense.2 points

That's what most of miles used to be used to have a 95 mile round trip weekly to the hospital, just moved and now it's 10 miles.2 points

Just shout 'beep' whenever necessary... Probably more effective than the single tone horn.2 points

Hi all! Just to close out this thread - I took the connector out and could not see anything wrong with it so I decided to do the easiest thing and replace the switch - it worked! 🥳 Apparently it was just a defective switch. Thank you all!2 points

Not much, but returning from monthly pub meets or overnight stays for track days can require driving in the dark. Also DRLs are a good safety feature that will be used all the time.2 points

Hi Guys After driving my 1st car (manual vw golf mk5 04) for 12 years, I finally upgraded to a 2019 Focus St Line X 1 litre Auto in race red I believe its called. After just 1 day, couldn't be happier after the dozen problems on my previous car. 😪 Look forward to picking some of your brains as I have many questions! 😊😉 Aasam2 points

Right now all I'm doing is accelerate gently! I'm even loving eco-mode. I think there must be something wrong with me! Not noticed any..... is it loss of power you are thinking? Although I have stalled it a couple of times when cold but I figured that's more me getting used to the car. So maybe that's the stuttery thing you mention. I will go out for a test tomorrow and look out for that. Haven't felt that the brakes are rough or any difference over a conventional car. Will test that out tomorrow as well! Didn't notice green battery. Keep getting distracted by the green arrow (tm)😁 and number that is telling me to change up as soon as I hit 2000rpm. I actually tried it when suggested and was like.... ummmmm,... no!1 point

Hi, I'm trying to update the DAB logo files for the latest update to sync but the second link doesn't seem to be working? Please ignore, should read first.1 point

If I stop going to medical appointments then I probably won't kerb anything for a while 😄 .1 point

OMG buddy, I swear, if I had the cash, I'd take it off your hands. That's an amazing discount. So sorry you are potentially losing so much money. Fingers crossed there's a cash rich member who will snatch your hand off... (by the way, I assume it has 'magenta' paint, rather than 'magnetic'? 😁)1 point

They're the wrong size and can actually damage your alloy. The ones you've bought are just standard lug nuts you use with most aftermarket wheels. Ford use a captive washer and have a wider contact surface area.1 point

I don't like them and never felt the need for them, I parallel park most days an have never ever hit the kerbs, I'm more worried about the slight discolouration on them, despite regular cleaning spoiling the look, Grand Cmax 17" Titainium are a pig to clean to many ridges and different size spokes. Having said that I bet hit them on a kerb in the next few days as I'm changing cars.1 point

Hello Bill, all of the lights are on when your main lights are on you just can't see them in the daylight. Theres no magic sensor switching the lights on radio or window buttons, it just needs to be dark to see them. Also DRL's if your car was built without them then no amount of software is going to turn on something thats not there. Best option is to buy some after martket DRL's which are easy to fit and wire (just connect to an ignition live circuit).1 point

Hi Alan, just a quick update on what looks like fog lights. My daughters Ecosport looks like it is using the fog lights as DRL's but in fact there are 2 bulbs fitted, a low power for the DRL's and a high power for the fog. I think this is a common option on some cars.1 point

I'd say check all the boost pipes for possible splits for starters. They're made up of a thick rubber with a mesh lining. When the engine (and rubber) is cold then any splits are held together by the mesh lining and when the engine gets hot, the rubber gets less stiff and tends to open up especially under boost pressure, and so I think that noise is the boost air escaping from the split. Unfortunately splits of this kind can be hard to detect as the mesh lining holds it together and unless you remove the boost pipes to inspect them fully, any splits won't exactly jump out at you on a merely visual inspection. Most likely boost pipe to split is one nearest turbo and egr as its the hottest one. I had split in the inner curve of a 90 degree bend, which was impossible to see until pipe was actually removed. Also, as an afterthought, check the pipe from airfilter to turbo where it attaches at the turbo end, for a split, especially underneath, tho ' that doesn't explain the loss of power, but for sake of thoroughness, worth checking.1 point

No, not at all. It can't cope with dog-leg giveways, it can't cope with parked cars and narrow streets, it can't cope with safe, quick overtakes. It is badly implemented and the car is worse than it would have been if CA was not installed in the first place. All I would like is to be able to disable it completely. If other people want it great, just let me turn it off.1 point

https://europe.autonews.com/automakers/fords-european-plants-hit-stoppages-due-global-chip-crisis More shut downs at various ford plants throughout Europe and turkey. Yesterday jaguar land rover announced factory shut downs And as wilko mentions there's a rubber shortage that will affect all sorts of parts/tyres0 points
