Hi, I've took my FocusStyle55Reg. to the local Ford dealer(Dees Wimbledon) for repair, and picked up a £400.00 bill for replacing the spark plugs and the washer jets. Does anybody know a good garage SW London, just in case I'll need it in future.

Cheers.

Does anyone knows whether Zetec engine covers can be fitted on Focus Style???

Jeez two new washer jets £26 the pair, and you can get a set of 4 NGK spark plugs for a tenner. In an ideal world it was a design fault, and Fords should stand the bill for putting their !Removed! ups right. And I bet they just removed the old plugs, thus letting all the rusty water and gunk drain into the combustion cylinders the lazy sods.

In hindsight both jobs are a DIY job without the need for specialist kit. That is if you know somebody with a decent plug socket

Would be interesting if somewhere there was a simple guide for removing the plugs, and if anyone knows the tools required to remove the sparkies and the glowies, then could they post, as I am sure mine will need to be changed some time soon, and I am not paying ford to, "umm" and "arr" all day long and charge me with a bill like that!

I find its great that I have the engine cover on the bay, at least I dont have to worry about the leaky seals!

Yes, you're right mate just that once you take the spark plugs you need to try abd run the engine to get the water out.Than put back the spark plugs and that's when you would need the gadget to reset the board lights. It's a complete rippoff.

Mate if your's it's a diesel you dont have spark plugs. The problem is that mine is a Focus Style and they dont have engine covers like Zetec's do.

I ran with water in my spark plug ports for twelve months, I did not realise I had the problem until it came to service time. But at no time did I have any warning lights. I did a thread on it Water In Plug Ports Issue, With Pictures
