Terryainsley
Can anyone confirm whether 3000 rpm at 60mph in this car is right? Should I be in 4th gear for 30-35mph? The revs seem to be very high in this car and at 60+mph the engine can get very loud. I have moved from a 1l car so this may be normal? The high revs obviously affects mpg also. Any advice Appreciated!!
DanGull
Sounds right to me - I would expect to be in 4th or higher at 30 in any car if I was cruising.
Terryainsley
I also have a ford c-max 1.6 and the revs are a lot lower. Perhaps cos it is a diesel? It just doesn't seem right... Is there anywhere you can find ideal revs for car models? Ie, ideal revs on flat road at 30mph in certain gear etc....
