MumOfOneFiestaVan
Afternoon Newbie here, I have just purchased a Fiesta 1.4TDCi Van. The ABS light is on, the chap who we bought it off assured us that the ABS light is nothing to worry about it is the sensor? The van has only just had its MOT and the garage man said this!!! Any advice would be most appreciated. Thanks
mintalkin
if the abs light was showing when the van was mot'd it should have failed, it could be something as simple as a sensor or it could be something more serious, untill the fault codes are read you will not know. if it was simply a sensor why did they not put one on the van? Reading Fan
Oooooops, did you buy it like this? You wont get an MOT with it like that so if i was you i would straight back to him. I had the same problem on my Fezza, ford told me it was ABS control unit and quoted £1000. It may of course not be that but as Mintalkin said, if it was just a £30 sensor you would replace it before selling. Good luck to you, i would hate to think some Scumbag has ripped you off. Was it a dealer by any chance?
fiesta_lad
Could be the abs sensors have you checked the sensors to see if there is any cracks or damage? you will still have breaks but without abs.
