bottletree
I bought a mobile holder that fits into the air vents and some of the plastic strips have come out. Quite simple to fix i thought, just put them back. Oh no, there is a metal strip mechanism behinds these plastic strips and the plastic strips fit into this and then push into the grooves inside the vent. Why make something so !Removed! complicated. Surely a much simpler design could have been made? Well i wont be fixing it or I'll end up losing my temper and smash the whole !Removed! car up. jeebowhite
lol, I realised this, as with my focus I added my own "feature". Where I drilled a hole into the vent, and then put my tomtom cable from the outside, through the hole, to the inside of the vent, and then moved the slots around to poke the cable through. It was quite easy to do (I know it seems I may be going off topic!) For anyone else who suffers this - Do what I did, just put a flat blade screwdriver between the vent and dashboard, and pulled the vent out. Then pull back gently the four plastic clips of the silver vent "surround" then just pull that off, you then have access to the vents, and can then re-align everything. Yes its a slight pain in the ace, but I found it very good that I could wire my Tom Tom in permenantly and hide the cable!
