Hey all,

How many have changed their timing belts on the 1.4 TDCI's at 50k or 150k? Haines says 50k, ford says 150k or 10 years...

What's people experience of this?

The cam belt on our fiesta almost slipped off after only 55k. If i hadn't of pulled over upon hearing the noise of the belt cutting through the platic cover i would of had a major repair to deal with. As it was still intact it was just a matter of sling the old one off and fitting a new one. Oh and a new plastic case that almost cost as much as the cam belt kit.

The car has done 120k now and i will renew asap.

I know this post is old but thought I'd contribute....It's only done 49161 miles.....had the car 5 months  and yup, the tensioner pulley has gone and snapped, pulled timing belt off and shattered timing belt case.
