scrappydoo
Got a Mk5 2001 1.25 and it is able to select all gear fine except for fifth which if selected when the clutch is let up it just makes a crunching like sound as iff it's not quite selected properl. I've adjusted the linkage as per haynes and still no better. Do you think this is a linkage or a gearbox issue? How do I ascertain which it could be bar the obvious which would be to replace the linkage unit completely! Many thanks in advance for any help and advise that can be given. aguycalledmal
A common fault is worn selector on the fifth gear this leads to a worn gear Can be changed without removing gearbox if this is the problem
