As per the title, on a 58 focus that has the place for the microphone built in to the light fitting. I can see a red/white and a black cable to attach the microphone it looks like it goes left (passenger side) and presumably it goes down the left pillar. Anyone know where I can locate it ?

Thanks.

the ford bluetooth moduie is positioned above the glovebox inside the dash so i persume all of the loom runs to their mate,

if you remove the glove box and look up under the dash with a flash light you should find the end of the mic loom.

Just had it out today actually. I had my light out and couldn't see anything obvious. You don't happen to know how I get access to the wires that come out of the pillar do you? If I can locate these hopefully I can locate the red-white and black cable...

Or even where I can locate wiring diagram...

drop down the passenger footwell fuse box and try to remove the lower foot side panel to see the cables coming down from the A pillar.

the haynes manual would have a loom and i can get an image from micro-cat which is the ford parts software they use in the garage sales to order parts but it wouldnt show a specific cable in the loom, it would just show the loom as a whole. and since you know the route the cable is flowing then this image would be usless to you.

I would have thought the Microphone would link straight into the rear of the stereo unit, not the blue tooth module. the blue tooth module only receives and sends audio to the phone straight from the stereo. I may be wrong but would be much easier to get to as stereo removal is very simple, just make sure you have the radio code :S

I can confirm the Haynes manual has nothing in it about the blue tooth module at all. It covers models from 2005 to 2009 so covers pre facelift and facelift versions.

Thanks both, I've also already had the stereo out and couldn't see any wiring that matched the colours of the microphone. I suppose the best option is to try and remove the side panel in the passenger footwell to see if I can see what comes down the A pillar, any tips for this appreciated!

In case anyone is interested I found it. You need to pull the A pillar off, starting from the top, it just popped off. The wiring terminates in a block inside there, red/white and black.

Think you may have solved a problem I was having to do with the submarine lighting. It had an orange wire that came off the microphone loom but could not locate where it went. I will take a look but I got around this anyway.

Thanks for the update mate :)
