FordPass Vehicle Health Unavailable

Featured Replies

The past few days I noticed that ford Pass shows Vehicle health - Temporarily unavailable.

When I click on the Vehicle Health, it does show the tyre pressures and oil life correctly but also shows the temporarily unavailable message under the Active Alerts.

First I thought that it might have been some temporary issue with their servers, but its now been more than a week that it remains like this.

Everything else in the app works fine.

Any idea why this is happening?

  • Yes, Ford have got all the data on both of their customes 🤣🤣

  • I tried removing location permission from the app but it continued to work fine. Of course then only the car's location is shown on the map, not yours as well, as you'd expect.

It's not just you, my App is showing the same.

Mine is the same

I miss the Pro Ford Pass app. It was much better

Right. Funny how they still haven't shorted it out after so many days.

No !!

well perhaps one day year they might get around to it, just as soon as they fix all of the problems with Sync4

Same for us, alert showing unavailable,

Same here.

It seems to be something that has happened for all users globally for all sorts of Fords. I googled it and got results of people from the US having the same problem with their pick up trucks.

I'm having the same issue.  2020 Ford Fusion Hybrid. Android phone.

i now can't see location of car when it's parked up but used to! anybody else? I get this?!

All working fine here (apart from the main issue being discussed).

Do you see location of car when switched off and parked up?

God knows what's wrong with mine then 😟

This has been a problem since "the suits" in the IT dept. decided to upgrade the app. They say that it's a glitch that they are working on ( over 2 months) but the same fault keeps occuring. Mine is doing the same thing and previously I had to keep putting in a password (that wasn't recognised) which shouldn't happen, once you've set up the app. The link for a new password would never arrive and Fords have offerred me compensation for this previous problem and the new problem has recently started, as mentioned by other owners. Ford would not, at first, admit that there was a problem and that others were experiencing this frustrating issue. If everyone complains to the Ford customer people, then maybe something will be done but it seems to be another example of untrained staff not caring or communicating with their superiors and the IT department changing how you use an app for changing's sake and thus making it more difficult to use. Perhaps they think it justifies their salaries.

I have a slightly different problem

I have the FordPass on both my phones. On the Android 9 one when I want to check my cars location I get a popup asking for me to give Ford permission to access my Phone Location, which is something that I'm not willing to do, so I can't see the cars location.

On the Android 11 one I can see the location of the car despite not giving the App permission to my Phone Location. I have checked several times to make sure both in the App and in the Phone Settings that Location Permission has not been granted.

I thought that the car location used the car GNNS not the phone.

It does and works as intended in one of my phones but not the other, that is what I find strange because it used to work ok in the phone it does not work on now.

I will probably get in touch with FordPass next week although I don't expect a meaningful reply.

If you're having app oddities (beyond the know issue being discussed) I'd uninstall and reinstall. That can fix a lot of issues.

Thanks Tim, I've done that twice and made no difference. It always asked this before but still showed the car Location when I said no, that was before I installed the Pro version, which worked fine until it was discontinued.

After that I had to install the new version of the old App and that is when it wouldn't let me see the car Location but only on my Android 9 phone. It worked ok on that phone since 2019.

I checked my Android 11 phone, the one that works ok, and it it says that Location is disabled for FordPass, so I think that it is something to do with Android 9.

I think that Google stopped Apps having unnecessary access to certain things like Location unless they absolutely needed it but that might only apply to the later versions of Android and now Ford are trying it on with the older versions.

I would be interested if anyone with an Android 9 device and the latest version of the App is having the same problem.

I tried removing location permission from the app but it continued to work fine. Of course then only the car's location is shown on the map, not yours as well, as you'd expect.

I'm now not sure if this message on the app is app related or if there is an issue with my car? Any thoughts please?

Your car is probably is deep sleep mode due to low battery charge.  Best way to test that is to drive it and see if the app info comes back.
