madmanwayne Posted March 23, 2009 Share Posted March 23, 2009 Hi All, I have just got my escort back today, no-one was home to receive it so they dropped it in the parking bay and posted the key through my door, the thing that has pis*ed me off is they seem to have damaged the car down the side and i don't know what to do? The car was deemed an uneconomical write off and while it has been @ the garage the mot expired on the 2nd of march and the tax ran out @ the end of Feb and we changed the insurance from the escort to the Mazda bongo that i brought! so where the hell do i stand with this, as the car has nothing on it, so this is going to cost me even more to repair than i expected! due to their nice little extra damage so any input will be gratefully received, thanks guys n girls. I went to the garage to pay the rest of my bill for my mondeo repairs, and bugger me there was an R reg silver escort gti 5 door and the mechanic was going to scrap it this afternoon! i asked if i could have this and that! what i need to repair my car and he said if i strip it off i can have the lot for £50 that's my n/s wing, n/s mirror, n/s headlight unit, bonnet, bumper with fog-lights, radiator, washer bottle, and anything else if i want it!!! NOW you cant argue with that!! how the hell they say its an un-economical write off beggars belief!!!! but the insurance says i need to get a new mot and a i think she said vin check????? before they will insure it so HAPPY DAYS :P ;) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Started stripping the car today and managed to replace the radiator, washer bottle, wing and headlight, opened the boot to get the jack out and my spare alloy wheel is missing!!! The thieving WAN*ERS from the garage have nicked it AAAAARRRRRGGGGGGG!!!!!! WHY CANT PEOPLE LEAVE THINGS ALONE!!!! Sorry!!
