Does anyone know if you can get to the crank easily after removing sump on the above engine??

What u mean why u want to get to the crankshaft

I need to get the crank because it needs new conrods so I wondered if you take the sump of do you get straight to the crank or is there like something in-between??

Think there still something in ur way u will have take head off to get it back in where u gettin a piston I thought u have replace short block if any issue down there

What would be in the way?? and the heads already off and it's bent 3 of the 4 conrods so needs new ones

Forgot that I'm just gonna put a new engine in it it's an easier option

Wel ford won't give u spec they say any problems replace short block second hand or recon be so much easier for u to do an save so much time

No getting a second hand engine and replacing the job lot cba with the time ripping apart the crank and stuff so full engine is coming out and new one going in!!

Ford was gonna charge £4500 to replace it we've got an engine for £600 and we'll fit it ourselves

Update on this, new engine is coming this week and me and my dad will be putting it in this weekend i will post some pics and stuff of the engine change so if any of you guys need to do it know whats going on :)

Is it just stood on very big axle stands? U drop gbox out with it?

Yeah it's stood on axel stands sat on wooden blocks and yeah dropped them both out together then changed the box over onto the new engine

U need buy primer ford cheap don't have electric pump in tank u need prime system before u start it

As I've put a new engine in and it's no longer in warranty I'm thinking about modifying it slightly 1st job replacement stock air filter with k&n panel air filter has anyone done this and does anyone know the performance advantage and mpg gain thanks is advance

Engine running well and no leaks of any kind next job get a new k and n airfilter :)
