Gorton89
Hi I've got a 02 plate Escort van 55 1.8 d non turbo. The brakes on the back at the minute are the drum type and have started grinding yesterday how much work and difficult would it be to change them to discs and pads or is it easier to keep them as drums. Thanks for any help on this matter. Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
Rich88hall
It's easier to keep them as drums. The only option on rear discs on the escort were on the higher powered escorts and the hub set up will be completely different due to drive being at rear wheels too on higher powered escorts. Gorton89
Hi Rich, I'll keep them standard then. I thought as I will be needing to change them soon I could swap them to disks. Cheers, Lee Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
Rich88hall
It is possible I'm sure but the cost and amount of parts needed to change to modify would probably be very high Rich Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
Gorton89
I'll keep it standard I'm not planning on doing any ridiculous speeds Cheers Lee Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
vinnyvangough
Keep it standard drum. Only disc rear setup on the later cars were the RS2000 which were FWD or 4wd. Neither will fit as the rear axles are totally different.
