I'm trying to do something similar and looking for answers.

Looking to fit the glossy Sony head unit from the CMAX/FOCUS in to my 05 MK2 Focus, hoping someone can help us out on the forum! Good luck! :)

If its the square one to a square one its simply plug and play all you need is removal keys from eBay if you wish to fit the round version in place of the square one youll need to replace the centre panel as well

I have a guide for swapping a mk2 Focus radio for the later gen3 type.

Look for the link under this post on a PC.

Currently selling an oval shaped sony with the silver oval shaped dash panel that surrounds it,

From my 2010 will fit focus from 2005 onwards

Thanks for the guide. I'm trying to fit in the rectangular glossy Sony HU in to my standard 05 plate HU, will it look odd, or will the outside matt plastic be the same colour as the fascia panel?

The Sony radio is a nice looking bit of kit and looks good no matter what colour fascia you have.

If you are really not liking the idea of putting the Sony radio into a silver surround I have a matt black surround spare for a reasonable cost (apparently quite rare) or you could vinyl wrap/paint the surround yourself.
