8 Beeps Every Half Hour

Hi,

I have a Focus 2.0 Zetec estate (2012). All of a sudden every time I start the engine I get 8 beeps in 4 pairs. These are repeated very 30 minutes on a longer journey. There are no warning lights and the computer says no system faults. Any suggestions please? The beeps appear to come from sensors at the rear of the car. Many thanks, Stuart

By sensors at the rear of the car do you mean you've got parking aids in the rear bumper? If so try turning them off or pull the fuse and see if the noise stops.

Sorry, no they are not to do with parking aids. The noise comes from an internal area towards the rear of the back seats. Not sure if it is something to do with an additional internal alarm

You could try looking up the spec details of your car on www.etis.ford.com, might highlight a warning feature you weren't aware the car was built with?

Thanks for that Troy, nice idea. Unfortunately nothing unusual. Have turned chimes off on computer but still these 8 beeps on starting the engine!

You should still be in warranty, have you tried taking it to a Ford dealer?
