Dani24
Hi guys. My coolant level was below the min-mark, so today I popped in to the Ford dealers and was sold some Anti-freeze and coolant. The guy said it was ready mixed. I topped-up the coolant and noticed that the new stuff was pink, although the old stuff was orange and to make matters worse, I then read the bottle where it said 1 part anti-freeze, 2 parts water!!!! Because of work, I can't get to a garage until Tuesday. Is there anything I can do until then? I looked in to draining the coolant tank, which looks easy, but searching the internet goes on about draining radiator etc, which is totally over my head. Any advice? WES180
If youve only topped it up a little bit i wouldnt worry about it now as it will have mixed with the rest of the coolant and been watered down anyway albeit to a slightly stronger ratio. Having the coolant changed when you get chance wont do any harm if you have the spare cash.
TomsFocus
It'll be fine. It's mixing pink and blue that can cause problems. And being a bit too strong won't hurt it either, it may reduce the cooling efficiency very slightly but not enough for you to notice. Dani24
Ah I feel so relieved now. I will keep an eye on the temperature gauge and check the levels daily for the time being. Thanks for your replies :)
