Stupid Question But Need To Ask

Hi lads and lasses,

This maybe a really daft question but is the rear bumper for a mk6 escort the same for the hatchback and the saloon? I have started my first project after finding a nice low mileage saloon but the rear bumper is shot and need a new one. Been looking at loads of pictures of both but can't make up my mind. Please end my hell. Ha.

I googled it...they look the same to me but I'm sure somebody with more knowledge will say if I'm talking out my axle :)

That's what I thought but being a Yorkshire man it would be horrific if I spent actual pounds and pence for a hatchback bumper and it not fitting.

haha, the goold old yorkshire stereotype! lol

As far as I know, they are the same, as I think it was only the estate that differed.

I have looked at the online catalogue, and it seems the cab and saloon seem to share it, but I cant find specific reference to the hatch!

Don't think it is the same the saloon is longer, they will look the same but the wheel arch to the back of the car will be a different length.

It'll be the same length as the estate but the bumper for that is moulded for the different rear lights and bootlid.

That's pretty obvious looking at those pictures, thanks for that mate. Looks like I'll be scouring the tinterweb for a saloon bumper then.

Thanks everybody for the feedback, forums like this are invaluable for info on things like this. I'm sure I'll be back with other dumb !Removed! questions soon. Many thanks again.

Thanks Mark, I must admit it would have been sensible to check a picture. Just goes to show even the acclaimed parts website I use (eacatparts) does indeed show wrong information on occasion
