volkom
← Mechanical (Mk2 Focus) TalkFord.com » Question on rear arms Reply Like This I have a focus 2006 estate titanium. One of the arm bushes has come loose. Fron heating up a nut that melted the rubber, and the bolt just turns in the bush. I know that there are 2 types of arms one has a welded plate where the drop links bolt on to. And one has not. Is there any difference. I have just bought complete arms off eBay. Bargin at 39 99. But i think mine has no plate and the ones i have bought have the plate. Will this make any difference ?? I cant see that it will. But as there are 2 types of arms, there must be a differnce and a reason why one has a plate welded . FatHead1979
There is a major difference, once fits properly and the wrong one will need you to bend your drop links out of shape to fit. My saloon takes the same once as a MK2 ST (best way I could describe it is it's got a 'kink' in it) garage fitted the straight one and knackered the drop links by forcing them through at an angle. One of my previous threads illustrates the difference between the 2 lower arm types: http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/73352-rear-drop-links-query/#comment-506418
